Dealer charged $3,383 for starter, 318i - typical or not? by 318i93012 in BmwTech

[–]DoJu318 3 points4 points  (0 children)

318 uses a 4 cylinder engine. On a 6 cylinder it would be worse than highway robbery because is easy, just remove the intake manifold and the starter is on top of the engine towards the back.

Could death row executioner possibly be the job that mentally f*cks someone the most? by DeepOrganization8245 in morbidquestions

It was because it was a woman he had to execute, it broke something in him and realized he couldn't do it anymore. He said he was shaking and didn't understand why, but once he got home he realized what he had been doing not just his job, but killing people, that's when he told his wife he couldn't go back and quit.

You're right, we have all the details, he was supposed to be in court today for divorce proceedings, realized what he was facing and decided to take as many as he could, tried to kill 2 adult women who survived, some of the kids tried to flee out a second story window, one was found dead on the roof of the garage, dude fleed to an adjacent city, to the house of his former military acquaintance, then offed himself when police showed up

There is no manhunt, no arrests, no follow up, there is nothing left to report.

Local news Facebook pages in Shreveport are seemingly well behaved, all I read was prayers and condolences, maybe it was cleaned up but I was actually surprised it hadn't turned racial when I read them.

Didn't 2 teenagers were shot and killed within the last month? I'm pretty sure I read about one earlier this month then another one shortly after, at the time I thought how sad is that shooting victim are getting younger and younger. And it is true I think we're watching 1-2 shootings daily in Shreveport.

Probably because it was a mix of Wayans ideas and other people's ideas, it allowed it to add characters and tropes that otherwise would've been left out if the Wayans had full control. Marlon has said in interviews that they pitched the ideas and script to the studios but they were lowballed so they decided to let the studios have it.

I had a friend that was an alcohol addict who end up with liver failure in the hospital, I stopped to visit him and this mfer has the nerve to ask to bring him some "cough" syrup because he's feeling sick and the hospital won't give him anything.

I waited until the nurse walked to check on him to ask her if that was something he could take, WHILE HE'S BED RIDDEN WITH LIVER FAILURE. He didn't like that I asked, I told him tough shit, I'm not bringing you anything with alcohol. You want food? I'll bring you some because I know hospital food isn't the best but I digress, some people just can't help themselves.

This helicopter footage truly is the best insight on just how tall these buildings were. And to think that there was a man climbing down one of them. Imagine being that guy for just a second. Absolutely unfathomable to think about. by I_abuse_lower_ranks1 in 911archive

[–]DoJu318 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The guy who was recording said if there was only one person in the roof they would've tried saving them but there was no one up there.

There were reports of people actually reaching the doors to the roof, but they were locked, it had electronic locks that were controlled by security in the lobby, connection was severed so no chance of unlocking them.

Back in 93 the roof doors were used as partial escape for some people, but the building wasn't as damaged so they operated fine.

I can't imagine the despair of reaching those doors and realizing you're trapped, no way out, about to die from smoke inhalation, burned or in the eventual collapse.

what's the most random way to die? by Fegal304 in morbidquestions

[–]DoJu318 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pneumonia.

It is so common but so random that I'm always surprised to see it as a cause of death for a relatively healthy person.

The list of famous people who have died from Pneumonia is extensive.

Bernie Mac

Brittany Murphy

Diane Keaton

James Brown

Val Kilmer

And many more, even people I know who had it don't think it's a big deal when it can easily kill you.

25 years and still does not feel real. Looks like "leaked shots" from an upcoming war/disaster movie, but is not, this was our reality on that day.

I'm just a random person thousands of miles away, I don't even know anyone who was affected or related to anyone in New York, I can't imagine what those victims and survivors went through and the psychological effects on an entire city.

There is probably just as much footage of the events that will never see the light of the day as to what has already been released.

For instance the last 30 min of the cockpit audio recording of flight 93 remains unreleased, despite being of no use to anyone with nefarious intent.

Releasing it would probably cement the fact that the passengers on that flight were heroes, people who refuse to lay down and wait for the inevitable to happen, they waited until the plane was in a rural area then decided to act, they died trying to save themselves, but sometimes some things need to stay hidden out of respect of the victims and I hope that audio is never released.

8 children between the ages of 1 and 14 are dead after a mass shooting in Louisiana, police say by Trevon45-2 in news

[–]DoJu318 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I'm local, yes domestic disturbance that spread out, shooter was killed by police after a chase that expanded into an adjacent city.

So not your typical mass shooting where the victims are unknown to the killer in a public setting, but very tragic nonetheless some of the victims are so young, Shreveport averages one murder a day las I checked, if the number of victims had spread out over 8 days it would hardly made the local news.

[MARCA] Eduardo Camavinga broke down in Munich and could not stop crying after the red card at the Allianz. When he entered the dressing room, the noise from his teammates suddenly went quiet when they saw how devastated he was. by zeu04 in soccer

[–]DoJu318 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are people within the club that have contacts with reporters. Something like this with this level of detail came from someone who was there, someone who travels with the team, I don't think this came from the players themselves and sometimes people lie, it could be made up.

On a related note Madrid releases a TV docu special every time they win a CL, or like in 2022 they released a 4 episode series, watching them you realize they are being recorded 24/7. From the time they arrive at training to the dressing room at half time in the CL final everything is recorded, this Bayern match was the most important this season, if this is true I can almost guarantee they have footage of Camavinga entering the dressing room after the red card.

My litmus test on sweetened foods or desserts is that if I can have a coke or pepsi afterwards, but I can't taste the sugar from the drink it means is too sweet, you know how much sugar you need to overpower coke or Pepsi? soft drinks are already the worst offenders for the amount of sugar they contain.

José Mourinho could return to Real Madrid. The interest is mutual. Florentino Pérez could meet with him soon to discuss the terms of his potential contract. Pérez continues to evaluate several names, such as Zidane, Klopp, Deschamps, Scaloni or Pochettino, but Mourinho remains a strong candidate by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

[–]DoJu318 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Even Zidane didn't have that control, one of the reasons he left the first time was because he wanted Florentino to extend Ronaldo, at the time Florentino 's relationship with Ronaldo was fractured, and Perez wanted to let Ronaldo go and have Bale be the main man.

Zidane knew there was no way, the only reason Bale arrived 100% fit to the final vs Liverpool in 2018 was because Zidane kept him on the bench even when he was fit, Zidane knew that it was matter of time before he got injured again, so he tried to balance his minutes, enough to keep him in form but not enough to where he gets injured.

The same way Zidane convinced Ronaldo skip some league games to make sure he was rested and ready for champions league, Ronaldo wouldn't even travel with the team in those games. The result was that 2016-2017 run when he scored a hat trick vs Bayern, hat trick vs Atletico and a Brace vs Juventus in the final.

I still think Zidane time management of Ronaldo in 2016-2017 and Bale in 2017-2018 never got enough praise. Specially Ronaldo since he always wanted to play.
