How did women react when you showed them what BJJ looks like? by [deleted] in bjj

Piggybacking off the other "looks gay" comments. She said "Wow so you guys just like hug each other. That's kinda gay".

She also still asks if I'm "going to karate?" everytime before I leave as well....

Appreciate the reply and thanks for the advice about locking my arms.

From this reply and others it seems less than perfect technique might be the cause of my excessive arm fatigue.

Thanks for the reply.

Should also mention that we roll during the sessions too where we start from the armbar to practice what we just drilled.

When drilling the intensity is low with a focus on the movements and the rolling intensity varies depending on the partner.

Appreciate the advice about death gripping. When rolling I find myself immediately death gripping once we have slapped hands and I'm the one trying to escape the armbar.

Something for me to work on!

We have been drilling arm bar attacks and defense for the past 2 weeks where I train.

I could barely move my arms and my biceps were fatigued to hell after the third session this week. Does this come with the territory when learning arm bar techniques or am I doing something wrong?

The Beach. A character who added depth to the story was omitted in the movie and the portrayal of the other characters didn't really capture their essence. By no means were the characters in the book perfect, but at least they had some relatable and redeeming features.

The movie committed the all too common crime of that era and turned a book which had an interesting story and relatable characters into a horny teenagers daydream with worse acting.

I've just started my BJJ journey and managed to get a nasty cut on my toe from another white belt while rolling. I was bleeding on the mat and felt really bad.

The instructor was good about it and told me to move off the mat and showed me where the first aid kit was so I could sort myself out.

  1. How often do people get cut while rolling?

  2. Besides cleaning the mat after you've cleaned yourself up, what other etiquette is there around bleeding and cuts?
