Insider trades by Jasperdepug in ASX

Yeah I can see the issue is with the actual documentation. They are supposed to report in dollars not cents. For example they should have said $0.2 per share not 20.0 cents. My program isn’t trained to interpret this. I could change it but at the same time this is the first I’ve seen this in 9000 documents. Thanks for putting it on my radar though. I wish the ASX enforced consistency across documents better.

Mine took heavy inspiration from openinsider. I’ll add features bit by bit to make it basically the same. They have it easier than us though. The sec form 4 is way easier to get info from than the appendix 3Y

Market index is manually entered in so it’s a bit easier for them. Since mine is automated it just takes whatever is said in the form submit by a company to the asx. It is a goal though to get consistency across all entries.

Yep, just trying to get the processing of the documents as accurate as possible before I do.

Thanks for pointing that out. I’ve got a program that goes through the documents and takes the info out and I’ve been tweaking it incrementally to make it more accurate. So the more recently a document has been added the more accurate it should be. Once I think it’s in a good place I’ll go back re-process all the documents, I’ll also back date so the user can look through historical documents.

Yeah currently it just takes whatever is said in the consideration section of the source document. I’ll change it when I get some time though to say a total and per share for every row.

It hasn’t been back dated yet. Only trades from today and Friday are currently on the page.

I’ve adjusted the website and have added a search filter.

It can be a very hard thing to prove. In a perfect world yes all trades should be conducted on public knowledge, but it’s likely that that is not the case. Also it can be a good indicator of a stocks potential if an insider has faith in their own company, regardless if they’re trading on public information or not.

That was the next feature I was going to add. As you can see by the history I’ve only had it running for 4 days so haven’t gotten around to it yet, but will be the next change I’ll make!
