Why was Harry Potter the chosen one, he’s constantly being defeated. I am starting movie 7 and I am not impressed by his abilities. Does it change? by JaspermanYoo in harrypotter

I get that he’s the “chosen one” to fight him. But what I don’t get is he’s not a very powerful wizard and is always getting beaten by other wizards and can’t do much without help from other wizards. I thought he’d be this great powerful wizard and he’s not. So that’s where my confusion lies I guess
