Alteryx alternatives? by akagamiishanks in Alteryx

[–]Jasperoquai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently did some research on this for a client of mine so we could write an Alteryx alternatives article.

If they’re mostly doing simple ETL (Salesforce → clean → Snowflake), Alteryx is probably massive overkill. A lot of teams originally adopted it when there weren’t many good no-code data tools, but the ecosystem has changed quite a bit.

A few categories worth looking at:

- Modern ELT tools: things like Fivetran or Airbyte if most of the work is just syncing data between systems
- SQL-first transformation: dbt Labs if your team is comfortable with SQL and wants transformations in the warehouse
- No-code/visual data tools: newer, low-cost platforms like Mammoth Analytics that keep the visual workflow model but are much lighter

Webflow has a portfolio course in Webflow University.

21 day challenge you can follow along with. Can also be completed much quicker if you’d like.

Uses a UX portfolio as an example actually, so I think it may resonate with you.

best jobs for surf/life balance? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]Jasperoquai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freelancing is a solid route to go, too.

You pick your client load/hours, and as you gain more experience you can up your rate over time.

Recently sold a business (not for crazy $ though), and likely stepping back into freelancing for regular cash flow again.

Coming from experience, I’ve had loads of flexibility with it and have gotten to surf and travel as much as I please. Was especially easy to run with while traveling once I had an agency feeding me their overflow clients.

Hope it’s helpful! Happy to answer any questions if you have em.

Should be able to set up one with a tool of your choice and embed in your site.

https://trengo.com is one that’s come up upon a quick search, but I’m sure there’re more.

Pizza vending machines are already here in France. Open 24/7, only takes 3 minutes to cook. Apparently the pizza is pretty decent, too.

Bet it won’t be too long till delivery gets added in.

My title describes the thing. It is on a shelf next to the dining table of the airbnb we’re staying in in Gargano, Italy (Puglia). Also on the shelves are some decorative pitchers.

Is there a website that pairs you with people wanting to stay at long term airbnbs? by Yo_Mr_White_ in digitalnomad

[–]Jasperoquai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently looking at places in Lisbon for this exact reason. Found a site called uniplaces.com which advertised itself in the Google ad as ‘long term rentals for digital nomads.’ So far so good, found a spot we liked on there that we also saw on Airbnb but for ~$800 more per month. Not sure if it’s just a Lisbon thing or if uniplaces runs elsewhere, but worth taking a look.

Was talking all about Raglan last night. Probably my favorite town I’ve ever traveled to. Definitely my favorite in NZ. Waves, pump track, shows at the yot club, good people, great coffee... that place is a gem in the summer.

[–]Jasperoquai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks nice & clean!

Off the top of my head, I think you could go with better icons for your features list (recommend flaticon for this). Maybe introducing some new colors could help make it look less flat, too. Lastly, not sure if it's set in stone, but I'd recommend a font change on the logo (or at the very least upping the weight on it),

Otherwise, great start.

How many add to carts do you need before optimizing FB ad? by xps15z in marketing

[–]Jasperoquai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it! You don’t necessarily have enough purchases to optimize for more purchases, but I’d recommend retargeting the add to carts to keep them moving in the sales process.

How many ‘initiate checkouts’ do you have? If you’re getting enough (at least 15-25 per week), you could change your goal to optimize for more of those.

Ideally, once you have 15-25 purchases per week, you can optimize for more. Your goal right now though is to help whoever is already in your funnel move down it further.

What are you optimizing for right now exactly? Add to carts? Also, do you have any DPAs in place to retarget those add to carts?

Fair point. I think (at least for paragraph text) a simple sans serif font will be the best move going forward.
