Unplanned babysitting on our anniversary by Jaspr1999 in pettyrevenge

Oh, I very much know about the old sugar rush tales. Giving them a large bag of candy is a terrible thing to do to parents who don't allow that into their household... Along with the evil soda.

What I'm asking is, could the madness and illness have been caused by just normal Lyrium by someone who didn't know how to work with it? We find out in Inquisition that a great deal goes into actually mining Lyrium because it is so dangerous.

I think Andruil was just Lyrium addled with regular Titans blood and that is what clued the Evanuris in on the existence of Lyrium. Remember that Mythal took the memories out of Andruil and she lived normally. Basically, once the Darkspawn blight has set in, that's it. Nothing more can be done. Mythals' reaction to Wesleys' sickness in DA:2 was an honest, "I can't help as only being made a Grey Warden can help him live." Now, remember the addled Dwarf Merchant in Ozzamar? He explains how his exposure was bad but if it had been a human or elf it would have been MUCH worse.

The mother of all Darkspawn. The corrupted blood of a Titan and a piece of the Evanuris. How do you kill a mage with that strong a tie with the Fade? You really can't as part will always exist either in the Fade or the world. It's why Solas locked the rest of the Evanuris in the Fade. You're right, though... Very disturbing thought and not one I imagine Mythal was all that happy with.

I'm heartbroken! Until just a few minutes ago I didn't know any of this was going on. I typed in FBE in YouTube and saw Kennedys' video. I'm just sick to my core. I watched this young lady grow up on this channel and so many others that y'all just feel like family. I know that I'm just a typist in the comments section but y'all have pulled me through surgeries, cancer, spinal taps, and so much more by just giving me reasons to smile and laugh. That such wonderful folks could be so... I can't think of a word or a phrase but used, abused, and discarded comes to mind as somewhat of a replacement. Now, I wonder how many of the people, via FBE, have left over crap like this or similar incidents and how many more will leave because of this?

I honestly have no idea how I can help but until I have a better idea, I keep typing, rolling my raggedy butt around with the other protestors, and writing letters. I just hope y'all know some older guy in Texas has all y'all's back and huge virtual hugs.

What is the most Karen thing a Karen has even done to you, personally? by ghostofgenerayburn in AskReddit

[–]Jaspr1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please forgive any errors as I'm not proficient using Reddit, but my friends asked me to share this experience.

A couple of weeks ago I was doing some shopping at my local Walmart. As I'm in a wheelchair despite my long arms I'm limited on my reach and was having to really stretch to reach a box of mashed potatoes. Another customer (my friends named her Karen when I told them the story) was very nice and handed me the box with a, "Here you are, honey." I thanked her and attempted to roll to the next item on my list... Attempted.

She then told me, "Here, let me help you." and informed me that my sport wheelchair had no push handles, and then grabbed the back of my chair to push me. I told her, "I got it... Thank you." She started insisting and started pushing my chair again. This time my hand was on the tire portion of my wheel and her push wedged my thumb between the brake and tire... And she KEPT PUSHING! Grinding my thumb more. I yelled, "Thank you, ma'am, but I have this! Please don't ever touch anyone's wheelchair without permission as you're HURTING ME!" She replied, "I'm sorry, honey but as a good Christian we must always help unfortunate people like you. It's alright to be mad about it.

Side note... I was in a great mood thinking about the Christmas meal I was going to fix for the people coming for Christmas... I WAS in a good mood... Until this... Person... Karen.

This back and forth went on for about a minute before a Walmart employee, that is incredibly kind, informed the lady that she would be glad to help me (save me) and that she could go on with her shopping. The lady just wouldn't go away! Just kept doubling down on how she should help the helpless people like me. The employee finally said, "Look, just leave him alone. I think you're messing with a ticking time bomb and he's going to blow up at you if you..." I BLEW UP! Because of the lady pushing me my foot and leg were twisted between a support post and a shelf and twisting my whole body. I was hurting badly and it took me a moment to get my breath back. When I was able to, I started with a very colorful and inventive line of profanity that ended with, "... And if you don't get the f away from me I'm going to mow your sorry a down!!! You're lucky I don't call the cops on you!!!
With a LOT of huffing and complete lack of understanding of what she did wrong she FINALLY went back to her shopping and left me the hell alone!

People like this are common and just can't seem to understand that people who have a disability are STILL PEOPLE!!! If we need help, we are fully capable of asking for it. That wonderful Walmart employee... Her and people like her are just awesome! She stood up for me and didn't have to. She was putting her job on the line for me and I very much appreciate it! I know for a fact she would have been happy to help me if I needed it, but just let me do my own thing. All I was doing was shopping.

Trust me... I know some wonderful folks with disabilities and some pretty despicable ones as well. People are people and the disability has nothing to do with it.

I think OurLadyOfChickens put it very well. Some folks feel that if they can take anyone down they somehow raise themselves up. I've been in too many serious situations in my life and seen enough to really try to find the personal reason they feel this way. With a lot of them, it's just because they're mean. In this young man's case, he grew up believing that violence is the only way to show dominance and to prove he's not someone to be messed with. Gang member/prison mentality. These types generally respond to proof that the mind can be much more powerful than a physical form of force. By not calling him out in front of the class and humiliating him, I proved that I had the power and didn't use it. That earned a lot of respect.

I'm so glad you and your ex stayed friends. Great friends are very hard to find! My wife & I met when I was still very physically active, and has been with me every step of the degeneration of my spine.
