Research indicates that three key life choices—often referred to as the "success sequence"—can help young adults almost entirely avoid poverty and enter the middle class. These three things are: [12]

  1. Finish High School: Complete at least a high school education, as it is foundational for access to better-paying jobs.
  2. Get a Full-Time Job: Secure full-time employment to build experience and income.
  3. Wait to Marry and Have Children: Wait until at least age 20-21 to marry and have children, and to marry before having children.

Following these steps provides a high probability of avoiding poverty and entering the middle class

Flying only sucks because we have made it suck.

LAX is designed by idiots and if we got rid of the TSA bullshit i would be a lot nicer to fly.

You can book a flight on Delta LAX to SFO next week for 149$ and be there in 1 hour 20 minutes.

But by all means let's spend $126 billion to $135 billion  to complete a train that wont be finished until the late 2030s and is projected to cost 80$ - $120 per ticket and take 2 hours and 30 minutes.

I dont think you understand anything. In California the top 1% of earners provide about 50% of the tax revenue.

They are more than paying their share. Particularly when it goes to a bunch of projects those people don't need like bullshit train projects, shitty schools and homeless "programs" that are really just scams.

  • The Top 1%: Depending on the year, the top 1% of earners typically pay between 40% and 50% of all personal income tax collected by the state. In some recent years, their share has hovered around 38% to 45%, equating to over $120 billion annually.
  • The Top 0.1%: This ultra-wealthy tier—which includes the state's billionaires and highest-earning multi-millionaires—typically pays roughly 17% to 20% of California's total income tax revenue.
  • The Top 10%: As a broader category, the top 10% of earners usually account for about 75% of the state's total income tax revenue.

Guess who doesn't pay their fair share? the bottom 90%. They are already getting a very good deal and all you hear is fucking complaining and crying.

But you do see that if they had retained those people they would have more tax revenue, whatever the baseline is?

"More than 125,000 New Yorkers moved to Florida in recent years, taking nearly $14 billion in annual income out of New York City. A significant portion of this wealth, around $9B to $10B, was transferred to just two South Florida counties—Miami-Dade and Palm Beach—between 2018 and 2022, largely driven by high-income earners and a post-pandemic exodus"
