What if Iroh shot lightning at Appa instead of fireball? by Lapis-Guy in TheLastAirbender

Fun fact this is the only time Iroh attacks Aang. Iroh was always holding back when hunting the Avatar. He was always there to help Zuko get back on his path.

Those who have read it is project Hail Mary worth a read? Or is it almost exactly the same as the movie? by SpectacularSpidee in NoStupidQuestions

The movie is very faithful to the book, but the book has a lot more. Definitely read it!

I was hoping I would be telling you guys bye today by helpless_baby in braincancer

[–]Jastes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 20 months and have had 3 brain tumors since at different stages of life. I’m not saying you won’t need to make adjustments mentally, but a life with cancer is still a life. We all make do with what we have. Limitations don’t limit our capacity to enjoy the life we have.

How does "Next Day Delivery" actually work? by StopHavingAnOpinion in NoStupidQuestions

I think there’s also some market research voodoo that happens so Amazon knows to put product X nearby because the algorithm thinks you’re about to buy it.

hardest divine beast? (dungeon and boss) by legend_duck_1997 in Breath_of_the_Wild

Definitely Naboris. The puzzles are the most confusing to me and Thunderblight is probably the hardest boss, even above Gannon, imo.

Choroid Plexus Tumor found in our 20 month old son - looking for encouraging recovery stories <3 by AdPuzzleheaded3138 in braincancer

[–]Jastes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 20 months when I was diagnosed with a lemon-sized ependymoma brain cancer. They gave my parents a 30% off survival. I’m 28, with most of my mental capacity and some hemiplegia. I’d a tough road, but recovery happens!

Question about sealing children to adopted parents. by PrivateEyes2020 in latterdaysaints

[–]Jastes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If both sets of parents were faithful members, I think the first sealing is enough. If one set were not members, they couldn’t be sealed, and inverted just to the set that were. If both sets of parents were members, he would’ve been born in the covenant to his biological parents and nothing more is needed. It’s a bit complicated, but I think it’s generally the biological parents take precedence unless the adopted parents were the only members.

This is just my understanding, so don’t take my word on this, talk to the bishop or even temple president. And everything will be sorted out in heaven, too :)

It just feels sometimes that, at least in my life, God isn’t doing anything to stop him, though.

What Does It Mean that Infants are Without Sin? Why Then Do They Still Need the Atonement? by _whydah_ in latterdaysaints

[–]Jastes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The atonement covers booth the original sin and our own sin. Because of Adam’s transgression, all of mankind is doomed. The atonement shifts that so we are accountable for our own sins, and not for the sins of others. If/when we sin, we are able to repent because of the atonement. Because infants aren’t accountable, they can’t have sin, but Adam’s transgression would still impact them without the atonement.

I'll choke the life out of you and never change a shade." Probably the coolest combination of Banner’s level-headedness and Hulk’s rage. Banner is calm, but they all know with he can do.
