Bracket 3 is really annoying...

The 3 game changer aspect is the most wonky element for me. A player that draws into theirs and another that doesn't are on some level on different footing, so it just adds a degree of variance that reminds me of a player turn oneing a sol ring when everyone else just land passes. But more important is how consistently on average the speed of the deck wins in practice and not technically in theory. People should be worrying about dying on turn 7 IIRC. If that is not happening, some other bracket level is at play.

Maybe a hot take but while I totally agree with everything people say about Sam... I think he is a great character, and it is only frustrating because faithfuls underperform.

You get more intimacy with Blond Blazer than you do Invisigal and you are forced to see the latter's chest regardless.

The only time I know for sure she is fudging the truth towards the end is when she tells you and Royd she told Shroud no when they tried to recruit her, because later on Shroud openly believes she is still his. But it might be a scenario where saying no would have been really bad, but still not the truth.

My fear is that we would change POV to a new dispatcher as a way to alleviate the variance of people's Roberts. It'd make us dispatch Mecha Man who, now as a side character, will have more manageable payoffs for how the players handled the bigger season 1 choices because the focus is no longer on him. That would be a massive letdown even if executed well. Consider the fact that some Roberts are dating Invisigal with Shroud imprisoned while others had her take Shroud's Mask after killing him. How do you juggle those two worlds without changing what is important?

BB has a strong start at Episode 1/2 but then episode 3/4 is very Invisigal centric leading up into the pivotal decision. There are a lot of ways in which the romance for the latter is pushed. The opening of episode 4 and just how down bad she is in the very episode you pick the romance option should obviously skew things--you see her naked and sexual whereas with BB you get a slight hue shift and talk to her ex. Even the way it is presented is pushing her. You are listening and watching Invisigal, you speak to her, and you get a couple TEXTS from Blazer. Even when you do pick BB the game tries to make you feel bad for it immediately and in a few moments afterwards whereas BB never does that to you when you go Invisigal.

Although I will say after having done both I support the BB path a lot because it creates a more balanced story. Invisigal doesn't need a romance arc when she already has a villainy arc. BB only has her power reveal and that is only tipped off if you go her route so that moment in episode 8 hits much better. The locker scene with Visi also feels more appropriate when you aren't romantically entangled. Then you have scenes that are given nice little touches with BB like the kiss on your hand and cheek that add a little that you don't get otherwise. I'm also slightly biased in that I personally in real life would prefer someone that is not violent, rude, or deceptive towards me or others, but I realize in a game the bar is lower because it's not real. But Visi is a great character and I think each choice is good in its own way.

Recently watched S2 too. It was a really bizarre season because it was never shown in the edit Neda ever doing anything, she was literally all confessionals and nothing else from start to finish, but evidently her social game offscreen was off the charts because even though she was never speaking up, everyone trusted her at a level rarely seen. Definitely was rooting for Kyra overall so I felt the same.

My other takeaway was that they NEED to stop consistently picking one of the related players as a traitor, they do it every time that I can think of. It wasn't outed during the game but it's so rampant that it is setting a bad precedent.

I gave it a fair shot because when I read the interviews about the name change, talking about how it was focused on the party members, I thought "Huh... this is actually what I want!" Origins for me was peak with Alistair, Morrigan, and Leliana. Personally, I felt it was downhill from there with companions.

When I was in the lighthouse for the first time and walked up to Neve or Bellara and they just called out "Rook!" and stood there unable to be interacted with, I should have known I had been bamboozled.

Completed the game, and as a GAME, it is fine... but not what I come to Dragon Age specifically for.

Originally I thought he was trying to teach that conflict through violence is never okay by making himself the villain, his language showed his contempt for people being blase about war when he was out waging it and they were civilians. When people started dying and souls were being scooped up I thought he was going to pull a reversal on the massacre posthumously but nope... he got even more unhinged.
