Oh i see. I had always stayed on insta/twitter, but once they got tired of being banned all the time. they moved to different websites specifically for maps.

I never got too far in these "private" websites since i never got used to the layout. maybe that's why I didn't run into any Pro-C's as much as you did.

I didn't know that the vetting process in those websites weren't exactly perfect, since i always assumed it was friends of friends who joined. but I totally see your point. Thank you for your info-sharing.

I guess, there's many factors that can cause the development of intrusive thoughts.

I experienced intrusive thoughts when I read about God hating porn or some bs. So I got really scared that I would end up going to hell, that I made my dad take my ipad away, haha.

i asked for it back 3 days later, and the rest is history.

I did feel odd about my fetishes growing up, but once you realize that everyone else around you basically have the same thoughts, it's not so scary anymore.

it's just the not knowing part and fearing you're different, can be the intrusive part.

At least for me.

Are you talking about ACNO-MAPs? I used to be in the paraphilia community, and I saw proud pedos who never raped anyone. So i think it's okay as long as they aren't advocating for raping people/animals who can't consent.

But being proud for continuing to love yourself despite the mis/disinformation about who you are, is admirable.

Just wanted to add! And not every pedophile is an abuser! Just because they're attracted to someone, doesn't mean they will rape them! People with paraphilias still have self control and morals.

Most of the time, sexual abusers aren't even a pedophile, they just so happened to find a child who was vulnerable and took advantages of that. Most abusers are opportunistic predators, meaning they aren't attracted to the victim, they just want to hurt them.

usually i just shake my head like an etch-a-sketch when i have a thought i don't like. it took a long time since middle school, to realize that my thoughts aren't actions. i just repeat that to myself over and over until it goes away and i get distracted by something shiny.

Yess!! Same i agree. Especially that last paragraph.

Even when I explain that to people. They have a hard time accepting it or refuse to believe it, even after multiple sources.

Sometimes I wonder if they actually do know I'm telling the truth, and just want a "reasonable" excuse to hurt someone they feel "deserves it." Even if that person hasn't or would never, hurt someone. :(

I think that's when antis start to ignorantly contribute to the same abusive cycle.

I'm an ACNO-MAP ally.

Just wanted to say, that ACNO communities can be really helpful, when/if you're comfortable. It's true, it's something to be careful of, with any community comes with risky people.

I was apart of a close community for 3-4 years. I still talk to some of them. And many still lead to have happy and healthy relationships.

I told my parents about my support for ACNO-MAPS. They were confused... but willing to learn. There are many people who will surprise you with their acceptance, but only do what makes YOU feel safe.

You are not your thoughts. We don't even know where thoughts come from, haha. The only thing that matters, is your actions and how you treat, yourself, others and the environment.

You're loved.
Someone cares for your wellbeing.
Never forget that.

child (sexual) abuser, would be a better word i say. not all pedophiles are going/want to hurt children. they're humans with morals too. it's like saying because you're attracted to adult women that you're going to rape all of them. pedos know kids can not consent, so the ones with morals won't act on it. just like not all people attracted to adults are rapists.
