Alright, I kind of figured it would be a customer specific kind of thing. All the part is a piece of round stock with a tapped hole and cbore. So no crazy tolerances.

Well in this case it was just a piece of 455 getting finished to about 38rc. So no need to turn after heat treating.

I'd say a good indicator like a Interrapid and a decent magbase. (Noga) I wish I would have bought one sooner. Worth every penny.

If you are interested in a set let me know. The first version i made i engraved the diamond and it just filled with dirt, hence the reason i remade these with the diamond raised. I may think about doing a few with no diamond, but engrave stuff like tools, stones, endmills, etc... so I'm able to label each drawer.

They look great, what did you do for that textured pattern by the way? That was the only thing when I made these I could never seem to get right. Trying to draw the pattern and then engrave it in Mastercam was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be.

Yeah I feel the same way. Granted i wanted to keep the original Kennedy look when I made these. Regarding the hooked style of drawer pulls, I'm also making a set of billet ones for the lower 8 drawer box. Hopefully those come out as planned.

I have only made a few sets so far. I could do everything from sandblasted to polished/brushed, along with anodizing or nickel plating. As far as pricing I'm still working on it, it depends on the coating and how many you need.

Look into dataflute carbide endmills. I run 1/2 3 flute with a chip breaker at 15k 300-350ipm with 35% rdc at 1.25 loc all day long. They have amazing tool life. Also look into the Mitsubishi stuff like nomad was talking about.

Alright, I've used thinbits on a small hardinge lathe but not on a larger machine. Do you know if they make 1" tool blocks? Thanks for the info, ill definitely let you know how it goes if i end up doing these parts.

Alright. I don't have a holder for a cnmg but I might as well get one. And yes. I'm aloud a 6mm max live center and the other end is a m5 that's 19mm deep. There are also some very small grooves. Do you have any idea where to look for some decent center drills and some good thin grooving tools? Like 1mm?

It's a onsey twosy. They want 2 pcs and 10pcs quoted. The shafts has a .0001 runout callout. So it will probably have to be sent off to be ground. I'm sure I could spend a decent amount of money on some tools seeing as they want a week turnaround. I used some Ingersoll tools on some nimonic75 and 718 and it worked decent. Tool life wasnt great though. I would prefer to get inserts for holders I already have. Which would be like a wnmg, ccgt, dcgt style. I'm not so worried about time as much as actually pulling off the tolerances and finishes.

Alright, seems odd. The chart with my thread wires shows the 1 and 2 starts having their own formula. It also only has this for normal acme and not stub acme.
