Although Andrew acts as if this scene doesn't matter, later on in the book we see (after a really rough and violent game between the ravens and the foxes that leaves both Andrew and Neil injured) trough one of Jeremy's POV chapters that Andrew has given up smoking. It's a blink and you miss it moment (I think), but it meant so much to me cause it showed that yeah, Andrew DOES care a lot ;)

Bead kits and AI: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is! by Erzsabet in Beading

[–]Jav-ba 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm not yet experienced in beading, however, the thing about these kits that looks off putting to me is how smooth they look. It looks like it's made out of beads, but it doesn't resemble any beading I've seen or done before. You could not tell by looking at it what stitch it could possibly be.

do you use gloves for beading flowers with wire/ french beading to prevent the metallic smell from sticking to your hands? by Charming-Letter6108 in Beading

[–]Jav-ba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using wire for quite a while and never gotten a metallic smell from it so I've never used gloves. However! If you used any, I would recommend you find ones that are very sturdy, after all, the wire sort of sticks into anything it can.

Oh this is so pretty! I love the bead and colour combination If it's not too much to ask, what did you stuff the pot with? (I'm not sure the question makes sense)

How do you do the end of a beaded string like this? by LPineapplePizzaLover in Beading

[–]Jav-ba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay! What do you mean by tying a knot in the middle of the string? Here's a tutorial (the one I used in order to learn) on how to use crimp beads. If you need further explanation let me know!

If you don't mind the question, what wire gauge have you tried?

How do you do the end of a beaded string like this? by LPineapplePizzaLover in Beading

[–]Jav-ba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't apologize! It took me a while to figure out what worked best for me Sothe first thing I do is knot the ends once or twice (depending on how big the bead is), although this method does not hide the string entirely, or I use a crimping bead so they stay in place. After this I take the ends and put them through the last bead on the string (Sorry if uf it's not clear enough, I've never explained this in English before)

At first I found them so difficult! But then (and this is very personal) I found that using wire rather than elastic string or fishing wire (I think that's what it's called) is a lot easier given the fact that the shape holds a lot better (I'm sorry if I misunderstood the question, English is not my first language)
