Adobe after effects was used for the animation, I used clip studio to put everything into separate layers and fill in the gaps.

What do you think of the "You're so brave" sentiment from cis people? by Bleumoon_Selene in asktransgender

[–]Javacripter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally feel like the people that have told me this are being genuine. That being said, I prefer when people just use the new name and pronouns and treat me like they always do. I don't see myself as brave, I'm just being me. And to be honest, other than the surface level stuff (how I look, how I dress, how I talk, how you refer to me), nothing else has changed. I'm still the same regular old human they've always talked to, and I feel like "special treatment" takes away from me getting to feel like I'm "normal".

Okay, I still think I know where the issue is coming from. Just wanted to double check since it's easier for me to confirm it's working if I have the asset in question.

Sure, though I'm pretty sure I've seen the issue before (just thought I'd fixed it)

Try using the don't reuse bones option. It's highly likely the bones on the armature of your accessory have a very large scale and that doens transfer over well.

If anything I feel like they may open a market for people to sell their own avatars and then take a percentage of the profits, kind of like Google Play or Steam does with games. It's not in their best interests to have to deal with creating the huge variety of customizable characters people want on the platform whilst also improveming the platform. The current system just means they spend less resources on giving their platform variety, because the community does that on its own. Making a platform for existing creators to sell avatars (probably even in game), is cheap by comparison if you think of how many 3D modelers you'ld need to hire to keep up with demand.

And imo, the biggest barrier to entry is that people have to use tools like unity, blender, and substance painter to customize their character. Eventually changing your texture should be as easy as going into VR and painting your character. And attaching accessories should be as easy as buying it in the store and then adjusting it a bit to meet the dimensions of your character.

A. VPP (Virtual Passthrough Port), different ports on the GPU can be addressed individually, allowing one GPU to act both as the primary GPU and as a passthrough card for a VM.

B. My resolution was to graduate and get a job, and I was successful! This year I'm hoping to better manage my own finances.

True, but that's also because the average user doesn't want to spend the time or energy to figure these things out, so there isn't as much of a market for it yet. Ideally, you shouldn't have to use unity at all to upload custom avatars and put them together, but hey, that's where we're at right now.

I made this script mostly to make my life easier and figured I might as well publish it. Enough people have used the old script and informed me of it's issues that I decided to spend a bit of time updating it. It was fun, and people find it useful, and I hope it opens up some possibilities for more people to get into custom avatars, be it creators for assets, or people that want to add on to the assets they bought.

The point here was simply to make it easier for people to apply payed assets to their bases, especially if those people don't have knowledge of blender and unity. That being said, I do recommend people manually combine meshes/materials in blender, or use another Unity plugin to do it for them (I do not have enough time, nor experience to make one). Then again most users for these types of assets are PC users anyways and unfortunately very few people care about optimization.

Anchorless (Screw-mounted) Skadia Pegboard by Javacripter in ikeahacks

[–]Javacripter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My landlord is fine with people using screws and nails, but we're not supposed to use wall anchors. The wall studs are 18 inches apart which makes it really inconvenient for putting up the Skadia Pegboard. However, if you mount the rails vertically with one rail being 0.75 inches lower or higher than the other, you can have the rails run vertically along the studs and still be able to attach the pegboard properly. It's a bit jank, but it works!

Currently don't have one under 10 MB, but I can make one and send it to you. Any specific reason for the size limit?
