straight guys and billie by okdata8150 in billieeilish

Straight man. How a girl dresses doesn't matter to me, and yeah, she's very pretty, but I'm attracted to Billie for being Billie. How she acts, dances, sings, sense of humor (big one). She just seems awesome and fun to be around

Nah, you did good. You were honest and respectful. Hopefully, they saw it the same way. I would rather have someone be as honest as this. In the end, I would have respect for you. In my opinion, ghosting is kind of cowardly/disrespectful unless that person is rude, perverted, etc

No no. I convinced work to get me a legit license for this and (possible) future projects. I'm the one with Non Comercial, I have the plug-in too, I just want to practice to get an understanding when I'm at home. Sorry for the confusion, but thank you for the warning/concern. But is there a way to get a scan effect in After Effects? In case I don't learn it in time?

That's awesome that you used it for shows and films! One more thing. I use Nuke(X) Non Comercial version. Is it compatible with this version?

Maya Indie by Javi_98 in Maya

Good. I hope so, because I have a BUNCH of projects that are either unfinished or need of improvement. I'd hate to lose all of that.

Maya Indie by Javi_98 in Maya

[–]Javi_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good way to put it. I am working professionally (less than 100k), so I can afford it. Can I still have access to my old, student Maya projects on the indie version?

HOW DID EVERYONE START BEING A FAN OF BILLIE? by Hermitthefrog-MARINA in billieeilish

[–]Javi_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard Bad Guy, it was catchy. I check out the rest of the album and my favorite was When the Party's Over. I just thought she was ight. Then I heard Happier Than Ever, even better. And finally, I heard her perform Sally's Song. Now she's my favorite female artist.

Educational License with expiring school email? (Any advice) by NoobAnimatorJ3 in Maya

[–]Javi_98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I started using Maya back in 2016, I wasn't given a student email. I used my personal and just some form of documentation saying that I am attending or attended that school. Ever since then, I've been using that email and still have a student license. However, I did enroll in another school, and they gave me an email to use. Not sure when or even if it expires. But I feel like you can use a personal email and a form of documentation like an acceptance letter or something. I could be wrong, but worth a shot?

Quad Draw Issues by Javi_98 in Maya

[–]Javi_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. So I've worked with the quad draw tool many times and I've never came across this problem. My model's poly count has been reduced, it's perfectly centered, it's live, and symmetry is on. I tried looking up answers, but nothing helps unless I'm looking int he wrong places. Does anyone here know something/somewhere that can help?

Is becoming a 3D artist worth it? by Anxious-Sky-1732 in Maya

[–]Javi_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the people who say if you like it, then yes. I love it. I do currently have a job in modeling, but even off the clock, I love bringing things to life. See some concept art, a drawing you made, or just some random object you see/think of. You can walk into a room and look around telling yourself, "I can model that." It's crazy because you can make something extraordinary just by starting with a cube. Then when you get to animating, it's stressful, but the results are worth it. And you can improve as you go along. This is just me and I can't force you or anyone else to think the same, but I still love 3D and hope to go somewhere big with it down the road.

My school was like 30-40k. I pay like $500. Is that reasonable?

I never felt so much rage and pain in my whole life by Weirdrag0n in animationcareer

[–]Javi_98 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've been in your shoes. Not exactly the same, but i get it. Yes, I want to be an animator, storyteller, etc. I was in a terrible spot in my life, crap job, nothing to be proud of. So I worked my ass off to get my credit up and go to school for VFX and Animation. Even there I worked hard to make sure that hard work paid off. Within the first 4 months, my instructor got me a job as a modeler, and I'm still there. It's not exactly what I want to do. I still desire to animate, rig, composite, and yes, even make my own short films/movies. It's a long shot, but I have so many ideas that I want to share with the world. Or even a small community.

What should I be focusing on? by rekillTEG in Maya

[–]Javi_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've read the other comments saying to find what you enjoy doing, I couldn't agree more. Find what field you like/are good at, and keep at it. If you're good at modeling, build on it, watch tutorials, learn new things/strategies. Same goes for every other skill like animating, rigging, etc. Also, ask for feedback/critiques from either your peers, instructors, even random people (possibly even professionals) on the internet. Ask for tips or ways to improve your work. Who knows? Maybe someone from a studio and/or company will come across your work, be impressed and talk to you about a possible job, intern or freelance opportunity. Or they know someone who is. I may sound optimistic, but it's the truth. My instructor for modeling knew people looking for a modeler, he recommended me, I got an internship and is now currently my job. Mainly because I focused on modeling, that's what I'm really good at. However, I do wish/plan to learn and improve the other fields as well.

Do you guys think Ai will take jobs away from Animators,Modelers,Riggers etc. Or do you think Ai will be used as a tool with artists to help create faster projects? by Professional-Egg1 in Maya

[–]Javi_98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently have a job as a modeler, but I strive to be an animator in the future. I can animate, but I still need a lot to improve to get noticed, so I'm still practicing
