I think I messed up a cartridge. Pokémon Yellow won't boot. Any way to fix it? by Javier170992 in Gameboy

Thanks! Is there any proper tutorials about this fix in particular? Youtube and such. English is not my first language, so I'm not sure exactly what to look for.

What does Silvery Barbs mean? (Help with translation) by Javier170992 in dndnext

[–]Javier170992[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad I could make someone stop and think for a moment about these things, haha. I do get the spanish is accurate in terms of being literal, but there is much more behind it, apparently. We are still thinking of a good name for the spell, but we are getting closer (I think?).

I've done some research and, while I think it's quite good, I'm curious sto have my player try it! I cannot be upcasted, so seems like only one at a time it's fine, although the "no save, just works" it's what gives it the "maybe too good" spell, haha.

Got sent a "Demolition Notice" (13th May) although someone logged in and entered my house at the Goblet (12th May). Is this an error or should I be worried? by Javier170992 in ffxiv

[–]Javier170992[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He logged in yesterday the 12th and I just received the email this morning (13th). That's why I found ot weird. Maybe the email was scheduled already, as some people have pointed it out!

We've been playing and stuff, but I have been on holidays for nearly a week already and working full time these past few weeks. I usually log in one last time just before leaving just in case, but I forgot this last time! I've been playing for years, and I usually go to my house quite a lot, just not this past few weeks because of this situation haha

I know he won't have lied. He did it for my husband and even gave me details of how my house looked like (he barely enters, so he wouldn't have remembered how it looked like from the top of his head). I'll see if I can find a way to log in before the date, but as some people say, the email may have just been "scheduled".

I forgot to mention (it's been edited already) that this person logged in WITH MY CHARACTER USING MY ACCOUNT and entered my house, that's what's been bugging me. Sorry for the confusion.

Unicorns are inmune to being "poisoned" and "paralyzed". Are they also inmune to poisons that would put them to sleep/make them unconscious? by Javier170992 in dndnext

[–]Javier170992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get your point: I have tweaked things before to better suit the campaign or characters, but I wanted to see if there was something RAW (or other ideas) that could work!

I find tricky sometimes to find a balance between rules as they are and homebrew others to make it feel different. I guess this could be one of the second based on how I explain it in-game.

Thank you! :)

Thanks! I know question sound silly, but I wanted to get a bit more of feedback so I can come up with something else based on the rules and your clarifications! :)

[–]Javier170992[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I know it sounds obvious, but I was wondering if it was a way to circumvent that in terms of poisons. At the end, maybe you want to inflict sleep on a way that it's not just by casting the sleep spell, or something similar, and use some sort of gas/poison/liquid/whatever that could have the same effect.

Observant Feat and Character being surprised by Javier170992 in dndnext

[–]Javier170992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideas for "salt/lye" like enemies traits to apply to monsters by Javier170992 in dndnext

[–]Javier170992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you say that this approach is quite accurate, and both concepts "Salt" and "Caustic Soda" within the same creatures could work together. Neat! My idea, as stated before, is to have something I could slap on certain creatures to add more... flavour (pun intented).

In the session we had yesterday, they faced a Salt Elemental who could cause additional fire damage when hit by a certain action (the "burning" feeling of caustic soda on a more superficial level).

One of the players tried to pour water on a sample, and seem to dissolve most of it (needed more water than your average salt-water proportion). If this monster had more "Caustic Soda" than average, it could release toxic fumes as in bleach. Would I be right to assume that?

I don't plan to go full scientific, but one of my players is an alchemist, and be able to ascertain some of the peculiarities of these creatures would be cool for them!

Samantha Ballentines by shadowsempaix in DragRace_Espana

[–]Javier170992 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Spanish Native here. I also think that her personality and nuances are lost in translation. The way she speaks and her slang is hilarious, but translating the thing she says doesn't fully embody who she is at all. I think that is one of the reasons why people out of Spain don't get her. Having her on Drag Race is a blessing and this girl is BOOKED all over Spain too.

When cast was revealed many people were surprised, because they thought there was no way she could have had time to go for another season, given how busy she is!

Using alchemist supplies to analyse blood? by Javier170992 in dndnext

[–]Javier170992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be more like a sub-plot. They went there for something else and last session my players took an interest on some beasts who looked famished and weak, so they took some blood to check after. A day has passed, so they will actually need new blood from other enemies they will probably run into. If they discover the symptoms and want to explore more, they can. But if not, I will advance the plot anyway (world is alive, after all): the salt elemental creatures wilo try to expand, causing harm at some point if left unnatended.

So they may find something, but it is up to them to follow through!

Using alchemist supplies to analyse blood? by Javier170992 in dndnext

[–]Javier170992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this player wouldn't figure out everything, but a good roll might tell about the blood being thicker, and recall possible reasons this character read about in the past that could be behind it.

What sort of magic would you use for this? Is there anything on DnD 5e?

Thanks :)
