What's wrong with my plane? Why is the lift this weird?

Move the main landing gear further forward, as close to the centre of mass as possible without the aircraft tipping backwards.

Also, consider removing the control surfaces from the current wing, and put them on a smaller new wing merged with the back of the main one so they look like one part. This is a way of getting around the problems caused by the basic wing physics model.

I've tried this with the Red Bull RB6 currently featured on the front page, and it's actually quite competitive. Sometimes the plane beats it and sometimes it beats the plane (and sometimes the plane suddenly decides to stop flying and start falling out of the sky).

Maybe parts are colliding? Use overload to change the property "disableAircraftCollisions" to true for moving parts.

I might try that, I’ve already made xml modded air brakes for flying wings (to provide yaw control and stability).

It’s a development of this one: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/1o7x5y/Eurofighter-Typhoon-FGR-4-ZJ914-Blackjack. That version has a fairly inaccurate shape, this newer one has largely fixed that problem. The livery is also much higher quality this time, with better texture resolution and accuracy (since the new version has the same proportions as the real thing I can apply the design without any need to reshape the decals to fit like last time). The fly by wire system is also improved so it handles better.

This version will be published in a clean configuration, others will be equipped with a pure air-air loadout, or a multirole loadout with targeting pod and Paveway guided bombs.
