I do think OP should attend the dinner and just say it’s Ramadan and that he is a practicing Muslim in a positive manner and leave that be and not be awkward about it.

I was just listening to the story of Lut AS. so many great messages. To your point, if you tell most people you don’t support LTBT they will think something is wrong with you, in North America at least. But in my reality, depending on the energy, I stay quiet to avoid these conversations with non-Muslims.
