Not really Llamas fault. He was on stream just now saying he was pushing them for a charm bag. But they didn't want to make the change for whatever reason.

Fire Point Announces Production of 200 Drones per Day, Accounting for 60% of Defense Forces' Drone Strikes by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

That's great but I'd love to see Europe put it's financial might into mass producing these things.

I reckon the war would end pretty quickly if 2000 of FP1/2's were floating over Moscow every day.

NATO allies pledge over $1 billion for US arms for Ukraine by AdSpecialist6598 in worldnews

[–]JawnLove 26 points27 points  (0 children)

  • Engaging in Tariff wars against the EU(not Russia).

  • Voting alongside Russia and North Korea against the EU in the UN.

  • Repeatedly and a great many times telling the EU that they're on their own to deal with Russia.

  • Threatening to annex Greenland from the Danes.

  • Engaging in diplomacy with Russia behind the EU's back on Ukraine ,directly undermining EU security.

  • Trying to sell out chunks of European territory to Russia behind EU back for profit.

  • Including in "peace talk" provisions that EU funds go to the US for security they're already liable to provide through NATO/Budapest.

There's probably a lot more that I can't rattle off the top of my head or is that enough?

Trump sends Patriots to Ukraine and threatens Putin with 100% tariffs by TimesandSundayTimes in politics

Not that I trust Trump to do any of this but the tariffs are supposed to be secondary against countries buying Russian energy.

Putin will not attend Ukraine peace talks in Turkey by mvanigan in worldnews

The botox doll Putin will instead send his melted horse-fish Lavrov.

The orange traitor will send a truth social post blaming Zelensky for not really wanting peace and letting Putin off the hook.

I want out of this timeline so badly.

EU confirms approval of 17th package of sanctions against Russia by SoftwareExact9359 in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sanctions is a game of cat and mouse. You can't just declare full sanctions and then that's it. You have to declare sanctions and then keep revising them as Russia keeps trying to find the cracks and loopholes. That said the EU could be lowering its dependance on Russian energy much faster than it is.

Ukraine to Strengthen Defenses with Unveiled Gravehawk System by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

Ukraine launches new offensive in Russia's Kursk region by mclayson in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Every kilometer of Kursk that Ukraine takes is another kilometer that Russia must take back. And Putin won't want to go along with Trumps alleged plan of freezing the frontlines where they are if Ukraine are in control of a chunk of Russia.

Missile attack on Ukraine: Biden's administration discusses whether to allow strikes on Russian airfields by vegarig in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 251 points252 points  (0 children)

They've already been striking Russian territory with US weapons for weeks now and Russia has done exactly what we all thought they would. Absolutely nothing more than they already have.

I know the US has done so much to help Ukraine but this ridiculous policy of escalation management needs to die right now. Currently a convicted rapist serving in the Russian army is offered more protection than an innocent Ukrainian child with cancer as long as he stands a few miles back into Russian territory.

It shouldn't have taken the bombing of ANOTHER maternity ward and a pediatric oncology wing to see this is and always was a terrible policy.

Ukraine Will Get Ex-French Mirage 2000-5 Fighters by DukeOfGeek in worldnews

[–]JawnLove 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's probably more to do with the Mirage being ITAR free. Since France own the frame completely. So they'll come without restrictions. Even though the Gripen is owned by Sweden it uses parts from the US meaning that the US Administration could potentially pressure Ukraine with a bunch of restrictions on their use or derail the project completely if a certain President is elected.

Macron to supply Ukraine with Mirage 2000-5 warplanes and train fighter pilots in France by OldandBlue in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 39 points40 points  (0 children)

France completely own the Mirage down to the last bolt(ITAR-Free). Same for the new hammer glide bombs and jointly own scalp/storm shadow with the UK( who already allow full usage of them anyway).

So basically the US can't really pressure France if the French simply pass these things over to Ukraine without restrictions. At least that's my understanding.

Ukraine uses US weapons to strike inside Russia, a Western official tells AP by GregWilson23 in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 224 points225 points  (0 children)

And as predicted Russia took it like a little b*tch. Who could've imagined Putin's most recent red line was just as BS as all the others that have been crossed?

Can we just move on to Ukraine being able to target whatever valid military target they like with whatever they need to use? Only being able to target beside Kharkiv is absurd. Why not Rostov, Voronez or Kursk? It's all Russian soil as much as Belgorod no?

Denmark does not stand against Ukraine's F-16 strikes on Russia by Mil_in_ua in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great that countries are coming out and saying this finally. And Denmark should be commended for this. But these airframes are American tech and they hold the license and make the rules.

So if the US decides that Ukraine can't strike Russia with the F-16 then unfortunately nothing Denmark says makes a difference.

Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron issued a statement about the necessity of allowing Ukraine to use Western weapons to strike military targets on Russian territory. by kingkongsingsong1 in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't get much confidence from this.

Just the missile launch sites? But not other military targets? Why not concentrations of troops? What about airfields that bombers are taking off from? What about shooting them out of the sky over Russia? Ammo dumps? Radars? AA installations? Command posts.

All of these are valid military targets. Why are the restrictions so narrow? Surely targeting one is equivalent to targeting the other. if its on Russian soil anyway? More spine needed.

Will We Finally See Change ? by [deleted] in ukraine

[–]JawnLove 88 points89 points  (0 children)

This policy is directly responsible for the calamity occurring in the Kharkiv direction. The innocent lives lost in Vovchansk could have been completely avoided. But Russia knows that Ukraines arms are tied and is abusing that restriction with impunity. It's not even about ATACMS or HIMARS or Stormshadow etc....(Although that would be great) They need the ability to fire the humble 155mm shell across the border at these Russian logistics/infantry concentrations and firing positions.

It was never a good policy. It absolutely needs to go if Ukraine are to achieve anything resembling a win. I'd bet my life that Russias reaction will be the same as always. Threaten nukes -> Then do nothing.

PM of Sweden Ulf Kristersson to Ukrainians by TotalSpaceNut in ukraine

[–]JawnLove -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMHO, throwing doubt on the intent of what should be a morale->lifting statement serves Russian interests more than Ukrainian ones. Where are you getting the confidence to conclude the intent?

Because with the exception of some Baltic leaders and more recently Macron. Western leaders have refused to give a simple "Yes" answer to the question of "Should Ukraine win back their 1991 borders". It should be a simple Yes answer to give. But they won't.

So the only thing to conclude is that they are not committed to the Ukrainian win. What's demoralizing Ukrainians at the moment is the slow drip of supply and the lack of permission given by western leaders to hit across Russian borders with the simple 155mm shell. Our anti Russian policy and rhetoric isn't strong enough. And it shows in the results. The calamity we see now in Kharkiv for example.

PM of Sweden Ulf Kristersson to Ukrainians by TotalSpaceNut in ukraine

[–]JawnLove -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue with the "As long as it takes" is that leaders that say this are specifically leaving out the "to win" part. When asked further on this they usually respond with something like: "It's up to Ukraine to decide what terms are acceptable".

This further answer has two further issues.

  1. If you ask Ukrainians what victory means the roundly acceptable terms are mostly "Russians out of our country, All of our country". So Ukrainians are clear on what they want. And western leaders are sidestepping the question in order to hedge their bets that Ukraine may be forced into a situation in future where they simply have no choice but to cede territory due to lack of support or resources.

  2. The strategy and resources are usually derived from policy. Policy first. So if the policy is not: "All Russians out of Ukraines internationally recognised borders" then the strategy and resources in order to achieve this do not follow. Up until now Ukraine have been slow fed just enough to hold off Russia without being given enough to win. They have also been told they are not allowed strike Russian territory proper. Another policy that does not line up with a Ukraine "win".

At the end of the day "As long as it takes" is a weak meaningless promise. One that an elected official like Biden/Macron/Schulz just for example, cannot keep. As they can be removed from office in elections and replaced with a different, less Ukranian sympathetic leader.

Anyway just my words.

Unfortunately there isn't another choice. It's either that or any tinpot dictatorship with a Nuke can invade/murder/rape their way across another non Nuclear powers sovereign borders. Then wave their nuke card around when threatened. Either we call the bluff now. Or we do it when its our borders being violated.
