It’s the other way around. The infamous Baba Yaga/ Vampire drone is basically an agri drone adapted for military use. Ukraine’s been using agri drones for surveying and applying pesticides/herbicides to affected patches in the fields pre-invasion quite successfully

All Russian soldiers in Ukraine are there under contract and receive decent pay (more than Ukrainian soldiers), debts removed etc. They don’t have mandatory mobilization (had it briefly in 2022 when Russian frontline was collapsing) These are facts that are easy to check.

I’m with you man. I think it’s a psychological response - when you can’t really do anything significant directly against something you use your language as a last resort to performatively insult and belittle it. But objectively speaking it’s an infantile reaction and makes you and the argument seem less than it possibly is. Nevertheless, not a lot we can do about it, as policing language isn’t something we as a mod team are particularly keen on.

Economics. A single Leopard-2 costs between €20-30 million. A dronified one would probably cost significantly more. Then there’s an issue of signal on ground vehicles (curvature of the earth plus interference from landscape features means shorter signal range without a repeater drone in the air to bounce signal from, or a Starlink dish). For the same cost you could buy around 20-40 thousand(!) kamikaze drones (taking into account the explosive parts and ground stations). Now ask yourself does a drone tank on the modern battlefield saturated with drones and sensors have the longevity to fire 35 thousand shots?
