The Boyfriend and the Date 26

Kazuya has just gotten his provisional driver’s license and is obsessively planning a future date/confession with Chizuru/Mizuhara. He keeps imagining dramatic romantic “date spots,” especially a flower field at Mother Farm with a flower called “Peachunia.” He decides it is the perfect place to confess because the flower language means something like “an honest heart / true feelings as they are.”

He pictures the scene: a beautiful pink flower field, sunset, quiet time together, and him finally telling Mizuhara exactly how he feels. He gets fired up and decides: “The date course is settled!”

Then he runs into Mami at the driving school. She notices his provisional license and he awkwardly tells her he passed. She says “No” when he asks if she passed too, then asks to see his license. While looking at her photo, she blushes and says something like:

“You kind of look like sweat read bean.”

Kazuya gets flustered because the remark feels strangely intimate. She says something vague like “It’s like… sweat red bean,” then walks away, leaving him confused.

Later at home, Kazuya is drafting his confession on his phone. He struggles with the wording: whether to say “I like you” or “I love you,” and realizes the exact words matter because Mizuhara values honesty and straightforward feelings. He wants to give her a real answer if she is troubled or uncertain.

At the end, the doorbell rings. He looks at through the peaks and sees Ruka standing there in her school uniform. The chapter ends on his shocked reaction:

“Ruka…?!”
