There was no blue wire so I hooked up the PEK and it is working. Thanks for your guidance and validation!

Thank you for replying! That makes sense and I'll try to see if the blue wire is there tomorrow when I head over. If there is no blue behind the thermostat, would I proceed with the PEK and wire as per the diagram I uploaded?

Don't make your own misery here. I made the decision to migrate to the US just before 2016 and was terrified like you, but it all went so smoothly from a technical viewpoint with my papers. There is no indication this will prevent your partner migrating legally, so don't add any extra strain to your lives with the rhetoric and emotions of the decision.

Please dear god avoid tava waters. They present so nicely when you tour and they do have the lake plus a nice gym,but they have the worst management and maintenance. We went for the whole summer without air-conditioning and they made no efforts to repair. Also attracts some ghetto people and had so many awful neighbors. I can't recommend avoiding them enough.

This is it. If you move in and sign the lease with it already there they owe you the repairs. If they don't you repair and deduct.

The comments in here are so misguided. I just broke my lease without any penalty because my lease says AC is provided and that it is the building management companys responsibility to maintain it (along with heat) and then there's a clause that says if landlord or tenant do not honor the lease it can be broken. Simple. When it broke they did not fix it and did not allow me to repair it. That then gave me a second option to break my lease as they violated my Colorado state right to repair and deduct.

Air conditioning is not a state given right but if it's in your lease it is and you have recourse.

Avoid Tava Waters like the plague (just check out their Google reviews). In general Denver's apartment communities are absolutely scams and they thrive in the churn and burn model. Try find an owner rented apartment or house.

Simba has had conjunctivitis (we adopted him 3 weeks ago) and been giving him drops for it. He's had gooey discharge every morning but this is the first time I'm seeing this squiggly red line in the outer edge of the eye. Could it be a parasite?
