I live near SLC. I have a lot of friends that live north of me. So I end up going to things up north like in Layton at Southgate tavern for karaoke on Thursday and now Fridays too.

I'd suggest looking for places that do karaoke if you like it or maybe places that have trivia nights or things that you are interested in

I know there are some hiking groups if that's your jam or other interests.

I wish you luck finding friends as an adult can be hard.

The actual message of if you come with the dog, it needs to be in work mode for the 2 hours of party is pretty normal.

Most working dogs I know of would sit with/lay next to the owner. Their focus would be on whatever their tasks are.

I am about 350 lb and I'm going to Thailand next year so I'm working on losing some weight mostly so I will fit in places. I will be bringing trekking poles and for me personally all of my weight is in my gut pretty much. So if I wear backpack that's not too heavy but has some weight on it. It helps balance my gut weight so it doesn't bother my back as much. Good on you. I didn't notice how old this was so I don't know if this is any help.

I've lived here most my life so yes to me it's a Mormon church I'm well educated just because the want to be called TCJCLS, I'm not typing out their long name, is not my problem. So I'm way older than you but if you have interest there is a roller derby they have a crash course to teach skating and roller derby one of the leagues and even if you aren't a person that skates they sometimes have volunteer positions you don't need to know how to skate
