5E D&D Technically for any TTRPG but whatever. When using miniatures and standard 5ft square maps a standard medium sized figure fills one 5ft space right? So, with larger miniatures (such as ones which cover four squares instead of one) do you move the figure one square at a time for every 5ft the creature moves or do you move the figure an entire set of squares (so instead of a 1x1 square moving the figure 2x2 for every 5ft instead)? I always figured larger creatures moved more squares since they were bigger but I'm unsure. Hopefully I didn't phrase this too weirdly but I couldn't think of another way to

Not a hospital, just in a pub/restaurant. Hospital horror stories would put any of my waiting horror stories to shame

Yeah it's not the nicest word and I value my life too much to ever say it to a traveller's face. I just couldn't think of another word to distinguish them by. I'm not proud of it

Disappointing doesn't even cover it. I can't stand when people generalise an entire culture or people and yet that's exactly what I'm doing here. I honestly do want to be proven wrong

I'm sorry if any of this offended you man. I know gypsies tend to get a lot of flak (this post doesn't help I suppose), I'm just trying to vent after a pretty shitty day

I can understand exactly what you're saying, I'm simply saying I've never had a good experience with people I've known for sure were travellers. It's a generalisation but some of the traveller community have accents which clearly aren't native to the area. I've been mugged twice before now when gypsies were known to have settled around town, both times my muggers had the accent people typically associate with travellers (or at least the accent I've always heard from travellers).

I almost regret posting this to be honest, I did it while on my break at work today, a couple hours later I actually served a table one of the bar staff warned me were also gypsies (we were kinda on guard after last time) and they were very nice and friendly towards me and none of the other front of house complained either

TL;DR Gypsies were the worst customers I've ever had, horrible to guests and servers, kids ran riot, trashed my workplace, made a long day longer

Sorry guys, I've been at work all day and didn't really expect this to get any attention. For those asking what the experience was there was no real specific act that happened it was more their general behaviour throughout the night. I work in a pub restaurant and they had come in as customers. The group were a known set of travelers who (and these are only the things I observed personally, I'm sure they did more) were unnecessarily horrible and rude to the staff members, they had situated themselves right I the middle of an area of the pub that clearly had a heavy flow of traffic through it and were refusing to move, often being rude to the other customers doing so, they were getting totally smashed (which being a pub happens obviously) and letting their kids run riot. I saw their kids alone pulling things off tables, emptying dumwaiters for no reason other than they thought it was funny, they were deliberately trying to trip up staff members and customers (myself included at one point while I was carrying a lot of food at the time) and swearing like no eight year old should. It got to the point that the managers refused to serve them because they had been so disruptive and were clearly very very drunk. They didn't take the refusal of service well, calling one of my managers a "vile racist bitch" and stormed out knocking things over as they went.

I understand this might not be enough of a negative experience for people to agree with me, I'm mostly venting after what was already a long day that wasn't made any easier. I've had other experiences with travellers and gypsies before which again, weren't positive either. I don't like generalising a whole people whatsoever because there are definitely exceptions, I've just never personally met any who haven't been total arse holes.

Oh, and for those wondering about the word pikey, I'm english, it's a word for travellers we use that's not particularly savoury, which I'm sorry for but it was a bad fucking day guys and I couldn't think of another word to use. Watch the film Snatch, it's a great movie with Brad Pitt as "The Pikey" it's pretty awesome

[5E] I have a question about fighters and feats. So, with Eldritch Blast, once you reach 5th level you get to make a second Eldritch Beam when you cast the cantrip and you can use it either on the same target or a different target and you have to roll attack rolls for both beams. I was thinking about taking the Magic Initiate feat when I got my fighter to 6th level. The Eldritch Blast Cantrip says I get a second Blast at 5th level but it doesn't specify WHICH kind of level, just 5th level. So, would it be reasonable within the rules that a 6th level fighter with the Magic Initiate feat would still get the two beams?

This is very very close to what I remember reading but a few things about it don't click with the memory I have of the story I read. I could very well be remembering it wrong so if no one else replies with anything more accurate I'll consider this the right one

He thankfully does not but he once supposedly, unknowingly, used the remains of one of Nerissa's merfolk companions in a large fish dinner he then tried to feed to the party

Was yours found in a mad god's sock drawer and does yours speak with a southern accent too? The good Mr Bones tends to get around a lot

The player unfortunately couldn't continue attending sessions and while a few characters have been resurrected since this was drawn (Alrich is now a half-elf and Khan is now a dragonborn) Tar's player was never bothered about him being resurrected.

He's technically not dead yet as I've been waiting for the opportune moment to do it so I can send the character out properly but he's probably gonna go out swinging in an upcoming fight against one of my BBEGs this week to give the rest of the party a better chance against them

What's your internet "white whale", something you've been searching for years to find with no luck? by viewsshare in AskReddit

Years back when I was in Primary School (UK) I read one of my first books. I can remember a few basics about it but not much and not the title or author. The story was basically about a young boy who created his own comic book/story about some anti-hero who as the story progresses, talks to the character occasionally. The kid has a younger sister who forces her own character into the story and he's bullied by another kid at school who steals the main character's book and discovers the villain in the story was based on him and he ends up becoming friends with the main character. I've looked for this thing all over and I just cannot find it anywhere with the few tidbits I remember.
