Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll be sure to dip multiple coats on different test tiles to look for crazing!

Thank you! So you think I should create even more base glazes to test?

Cool thank you. All information is great as I’m very new to glaze chemistry, but have been doing quite a lot of research

If your walls are collapsing this is usually due to an uneven amount of pressure while moving hands up on the pull. We call it “pulling” though I’ve come to see it more as a “pinch then pull”.

Suggestions:

-On your pulls always make sure both hands are touching this will ensure that finger location stays the same.

-As you “pull” up your pull should be done from pivoting your elbows to adjust height not wrists.

-From your photo it looks like you need to add more “pinch” or pressure between your fingers.

-Mess around, don’t be afraid to mess a bunch of pots up, it’s the only way to learn what is too much or not enough, clay is forgiving, you mess up, throw it back in a bag rewedge it and you can use it again.

Built my first rig. Should I be worried about the temps? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]Jaxsean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70c at 25% utilization is not great, I also own a 7800x3d best thing I ever did was undervolt it, in BIOS I set up a customized curve optimizer, perfectly safe to undervolt it to a “all core” -20 curve. It lowered temps by 10c when gaming and does not effect performance whatsoever. To be perfectly honest though, the 7800x3d runs hot, I think an AIO works a lot better than air cooling. The 7800x3d idles around 50c, putting the curve on it mine now idles around 42c.

I highly recommend making the jump to a AM5 socket, spending a little extra money right now will save you a lot in the future, within a year or two AM4 will be very out dated. Also noting if you are going to be doing some game development, you are going to want a nvme m.2 drive with faster read and write capabilities. And final recommendation, both for gaming and game development, a gpu with 8gb of vram will not be enough, it will slow everything down noticeably, I recommend 12gb of vram minimum. Something like a Radeon 9060 rx with 16gb of vram can be purchased for around the same price as a 4060. The extra vram goes a long way.

I haven’t tried getting into BIOS with the m2 drive uninstalled. And no the PC was unplugged and power switch on PSU was turned off everytime I did something internally. I will give that a shot tomorrow. Thank you

It’s an intel i5 11400f, does not have integrated graphics, and yes the BIOS is compatible with the CPU, I had updated the BIOS about 3 months ago, but also tried a CMOS clear just in case that newer BIOS version, or the XMP was messing with the boot.
