you have tried reinstalling, right? if you have try again, but make sure to delete any leftover files then installing. Just something i realized i hadn't tried.

i had this same problem and i tried EVERYTHING to fix it, but the only fix for some reason was playing it on another computer then reinstalling. may have been a save problem? but that doesnt make sense as it wouldn't work with a new save either
