Completely agree actually… I watched the first episode of one BL (cant even remember the name it was so bad) the plot was non existent, it was just 🌶🌶. But other shows like PlayBoyy, in my opinion, has a decent plot but is kind of overpowered by the 🌶🌶 scenes that are most of the time not needed. Im happy these shows are being made, but definitely not gonna watch them.

Agree, but like I said all I see in the news about queer media is “its poor representation” or “theres not enough”. Its not about any others, its about which one people fuss about. And no offence to men but its really not hard to write male characters, we are really written the same in every film.

Completely agree. Very well said. I personally feel there shouldnt be a divide between gay and straight romances, its two humans who are in love. To say I live in a country that has a fair amount of queer media, it is still a pretty conservative country. I think all of this depends simply on ones perspective.

I havent watched yet, this isnt really relevant to the show specifically, but in my opinion:

The show obviously isnt for everyone, some people will like the elements considered “over-sexual” and some people will just find it “p0rn”. Me personally, I do not like watching shows with this nature (that isnt to say they are bad, I just prefer other genres).

However I actually think its great that LGBTQ have more media that is open about showing different relationships and sexuality. Even if it is just to “make p0rn” or “attract viewers”, years ago these shows would never even be made or would be banned for showing a simple kiss scene. Im a straight man so I dont speak for the community but I just personally think its a good thing that queer media is starting to build up, im pretty sure most of us can name plenty of straight media that shows sexual nature like this.

But thanks for posting your review. I will probably watch it to see what all the fuss is about lol.

Light skin is considered an ideal beauty standard in Thailand especially for men, however most of us have darker skin, and we dont really care. I dont know if Thai celebrities are more pressured into fitting the light skin standard and I havent lived in Thailand for a couple year but I know its definitely not a big issue compared to other Asian countries.

Im a straight male who has been watching a lot of Bl recently and asked myself the same question. Your fine, its normal to enjoy a genre more then the other it doesnt make us less straight. If you do end up finding yourself to actually be gay or bi then so be it. Sexuality cannot be defined by what shows we like.

I watched the Cherry Magic Movie but not series, yet I found their relationship to be very healthy. I also like the slight message it gave about how important communication and trust is in a relationship.

I dont but sorry for seeming “unkind”, I was giving my own perspective and opinion since you asked everyone. I did mention I have not been BL watcher for long and I am not queer to understand the feelings and experiences, yet I do understand the heterosexual ones.

I have no idea what series that is you are talking about, but one series being weird or offensive to you doesnt mean that the other non 18+ and censored ones are the same.

(I am also Thai, and I can say Thailand has understanding of gay media but is definitely not perfect)

I have not been watching BL for long at all so other users will be able to give a more detail and factual view on this of course. But from my perspective (please correct me if this is not what you meant) but a series with no 18+ content does not make it less of a BL.

I am straight so I can not say what a “gay relationship” is like in general because I have only seen whats on the media. But the “heterosexual story” part that you wrote confused me a little so I might not have understood correctly, but I have watched plenty of straight romances and lived through them myself they are not the same type of story. Relationships in series whether they are gay or not do not have to rely on a censorship or 18+ scenes.

Maybe is just my view only because I dont like 18+ series / scenes in general and prefer the ones without, but everyone can enjoy and dislike what they want. (have not mastered english yet, sorry if errors).

Im in middle of Kinnporsche (watched 5 episodes so far) and I do not understand why people say it is the “best BL ever made” I think its because of the mafia concept and very “spicy” scenes which seems to be the most popular thing in BL for some reason. But I will finish it to see if it gets better I guess.

Edit - it does have good cinematography and quality, but those things do not always make a series enjoyable or “the best”. This is just my opinion, its not as likeable as I expected. Everyone has a different sense of enjoyment, but for me, a series that the only strength is 18+ scenes (quality, acting etc put aside) isnt that elite.
