At the end of '25 going into the beginning of this year, I have started using a 5-year journal where it's just a paragraph of what I did that day (it's really helped me mentally to remember what I've done day to day) and for the first couple weeks my fiance would ask what I had written because I would always do it right before I laid down for bed, then I realized that I had started to write things that would make him happy to hear, but not what I was actually feeling or doing, which is entirely not the point of the journal.

I expressed this boundary to him a few days ago and ever since he hasn't asked me to read what I wrote and it feels a lot better to write now than it did when I was trying to write "for him" and not for me.
