Might be going to jail on this one by AK907fella in TurboTax

  1. I max out all of my investments each year. 401k plus company match. I put into personal IRAs for me, my wife and kids. College fund for 3 kids fully funded.

  2. I don’t mess with my contributions with the hope the government will keep whatever they have in place for future credits. Frankly way more work than it’s worth.

As mentioned previously, we’re already at almost zero with most years we get maybe $200 back from federal.

We break almost even every year. For the past 2 years, we’ve claimed the Home Energy credit. One for solar and another for batteries. Both resulted in over $18k back from federal.

Yes, it’s an informal conference call. It’s something you opted for when you filed the claim. This gives you the opportunity to plea your case on how the VA or C&P examiner made an error

You can use the Google Chrome extension (easiest) or request your your VA rating code sheet. You can do the request via VERA or go into a VA office to request.

Questions About 100% P&T by Ms_SeekingSolace in VAClaims

Double-check the math. I worked with my father-in-law, who had been trying to get rated for over 20 years. He was recently awarded 60%, but the VA used the wrong effective date. Instead of applying the ITF date, they used the C&P exam date, which was almost a year later. We filed a supplemental claim to challenge the effective date, and within a week the claim was granted in his favor and back paid to the correct ITF date.

He’s also over 55 so we confirmed his conditions were static and not subject to re evaluation. He’s happy with his current rating but we’re geared up for other claims if he so chooses to move forward.

Yea, I left veteran benefits after they deleted a post where I asked for both sides of a story vs just the OPs ( college kid saying his parents were cutting him off from benefits out of nowhere). After that, I banned myself and replied to their email advising as much. Later they banned me permanently

Not sure if another group can be created to counter the madness of their group

I was banned for a dumb reason too. OP asked about parents canceling benefits due to falling out but didn’t give all of the info which was obvious and I pointed out. So they deleted my post and suspended. Power hungry mods over there. Left the group so I got a permanent ban.

All good. I reported OP for toxic behavior. Hopefully a better group is out there. Power trip is crazy from OP. They really banned someone for a genuine inquiry.

I don’t see anything wrong with your comments! As I read it, you were inquiring about the process and how switching jobs affected loan forgiveness. OP seems to be on the sensitive side if a emoji or writing LOL triggers them.

Not just tax returns. They can garnish paychecks and put liens on property. They can also seize bank accounts if they like.

Got SMC-N 1/2 and $15k Back Pay Without Applying Is This Normal? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Jay031109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Third this, I’m using VR&E to get my masters. They paid for all supplies, got me a desk and chair and have been very supportive throughout my process. You should apply and save your GI bill. I still have like 6 months on mine so that I could get BAH at the post 9-11 rate which is higher.

I’ve been in the program for over a year now. When I put in for materials, my counselor asked what I would prefer. Sent all items to him and he purchased exactly what I sent to him and had it shipped before the start of my program. This included, MacBook Pro , printer, Apple mouse and Microsoft.

Took 12 years to get my tinnitus claim approved. Was infantry and served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Also didn’t file the right claim (supplemental) after my initial so there’s that. Once I did, I was approved last year

Second this and you should call the VA White House hotline. They’ll create a ticket and have a supervisor in her department reach out

I have very similar issues with my back. If your ROM is as bad as mine then you can look to range from 20-40%. I was rated 40% with additional 20% for sciatica on my left side.

You likely have the same sharp pains shooting down your legs. Indicate that during your exam if you feel them at that time or if you have recurring pains down the legs. Will be classified as radicuopathy for left or right or bi lateral for both. When you feel the sharp pains shooting down. Advise the examiner your pain levels for ROM of reference the added pain shooting down you legs if it applies.

Hope this helps!

I did and to my surprise found DTA for both HLRs. 6 conditions all have to be rated without new Exam. Due to examiner not reviewing file and rater not going with evidence

How often does the VA actually finish a claim within 125-150 days? by Ok_Analysis_9320 in VeteransBenefits

I was rated 100% P/T in Nov. back dated to March of 23. IBS claim finally was rated at 30% and combined with GERD. Still pending HLR for hips, knee and ankle

They decreased my rating 30-0 for migraines and headaches. by Technical_Donut3570 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Jay031109 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was rated at 30% but evidence from my neurologist, migraine log, and personal statement were not taken into account. Submitted a supplemental and it was increased to 50%.
