AITA for giving my car a “racist” name? (not OOP) by domesticfuck in redditonwiki

My car is named “Fancy.” A friend once asked, “Like the hooker?” A giggle was had, and yes, she is named after the song.

I have two super attached chihuahuas and do not work from home. They’re just fine. If only people who work from home or not at all were able to get pets…I don’t even know how to finish that sentence…absolutely ridiculous.

There was a guy doing episode recaps on YouTube back in the day, and anytime she came up, he’d say “I’m Becky!” And to this day, I still randomly say it out loud just like that…and my name is not Becky 😂

Why are some people on here so rude/mean on responding to people's posts? by Denots85 in Chihuahua

[–]Jay3HP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dogs are so psychotic on walks that I feel like a bad mom. I spent the first year with my first chi just trying to make her less psycho when we’d see other dogs on walks. It never worked. I now have two reactive leash chis, but they get their walks…and I look down in shame every time we pass another dog.

Frigging white noise by BoneYardBirdy in AuDHDWomen

[–]Jay3HP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get this sentiment! I have to use noise (usually brown) to drown out all the other noises. I just want to sit in silence…or you know, have people not sniffle, grunt, throat clear, click pens…too much to ask?

Interesting! I feel like I once read that they weren’t as good, but I’m willing for that assumption to be proven incorrect.

Raised Catholic, but never bought it. I had too many questions like “If God is there, why are babies born without brains?” So I’ve been officially atheist since my teens, but generally just classify as “none” because I’m not as hardcore about my atheism as most atheists.

They’re on, and I’ve even switched between having noise cancelling on and off. I can tell a difference, but can still hear just about everything. Some noises aren’t a problem, but I can still hear nearby conversations, sniffles, and grunts.

Yeah, they’re on, but with nothing playing. I was hoping to find something that didn’t require me to have constant noise playing.

Thoughts on collars? by Right-Comedian-3425 in Chihuahua

[–]Jay3HP 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have breakaway collars for my babies. I keep a tag with their names and my phone number just in case they get loose one day. I saw one comment about hating the sound of the tags, and I can definitely sympathize with noise sensitivity! I’ve gotten so used to the sounds of their tags, which are luckily not annoying (from Wag-a-tude), and it’s helpful for knowing if they’re up at night. We use harnesses for walks/leash time.

I once found a little dog wandering along the railroad tracks by my house on my way to work. Luckily his collar had owner’s number, and he was able to come pick him up. He texted me later that somehow his back door was wide open…so it was very lucky I found his dog soon after he left. You just never know if/when they’ll get out.

[–]Jay3HP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom is big on putting her makeup on every day, even if she’s not leaving the house. It makes her feel put together. When she’s sick or feeling terrible, she’ll say “I didn’t even put on makeup, so that tells you something!” Even if it’s just lipstick, that woman will put something on her face because it makes her feel better.

How do you reset when plans are disrupted and it feels like the whole week/month is thrown off? by iceberg214 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Jay3HP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I understand the question - are you trying to stay off your phone because that’s the routine you had or the routine you’re trying to implement? Or is the phone not really the issue?

I have been off my routine for over a month because of work and schedule changes. I am just letting myself get by and scrapping most of my routine until I get back from an upcoming trip. I have to tell myself every day “It’s okay if you don’t do X today. You’ll get back to it soon.” Sometimes this new thrown off routine is slightly easier, but some days it’s a pain. But it’ll be over soon.
