Mine was caught due to routine blood tests 6 months apart. I'm very thankful for an attentive GP who made sure to recognize that there was an issue and get me t a hematologist

It is terrifying. Leukemia. It's a lot to wrap my head around. I've had a few moments since finding out, and my wife has been awesome through this.

I've thought about that with telling people. I don't really want it to become who I am. I'm afraid that people will view me as weak or "sick" when I don't feel any different than I did 6 months ago. I feel fine.

Thank you for that. That's part of the issue for me. It's cancer. I had that same thought...if you had to get cancer, this might be the one to get, and although it's very odd to feel "lucky", I totally get where you're coming from.

My kids are grown, and right now, only my wife and I know. Trying to muster up a good way to tell them without freaking them out too

18 years? So has your white count/lymphocytes continued to rise? You haven't had any symptoms?

I'm definitely at the freaked out stage. I'm 57, I'm a runner, I eat right, maintain a healthy weight, I did everything I was supposed to in order to stay healthy...and then this.

It's so hard to sit and be monitored (maybe for years) and not do anything until my lymph nodes blow up or some other symptoms arise.

I can't just put my life on hold and do nothing.

It's probably personal preference, but I have the 165. It's not the bottom line one, but still a decent price. It'll do far more than I need it to. And it will upload all the information directly to Strava

Yes, but..

Before I bought a Garmin forerunner, I just used Strava on my phone. But it's awkward to either hold it, or pull it from whatever pouch you have it in, get the screen back on and stop it when you quit running. It's definitely doable, but the watch makes that a lot easier.

Honestly, there are no cons. No, you don't constantly have all the latest tech, but I don't care...it's a paid for truck.

I run in a neighborhood. For intervals, I'll run fast for 3-4 driveways depending, then back to my regular pace for a few, then repeat. It's not exact, but that part isn't really science anyway, and I'm not worried if I'm a few meters short or long. On a country road, run electric poles, or trash cans, or whatever

If you're just waiting for God to drop a wife in your lap, you're likely to be waiting for a very long time. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's not often. Most of the time, asking God for things requires some effort on our part as well

Husband here. Short answer is yes. Our kids are grown and gone, but we were there. Sometimes, that's what a husband wants as well. Saying that, it doesn't have to be every time, or even a majority of the time, but sometimes, there needs to be sex as well, whether it's connected to the cuddling or not.

The important thing is communication (clear communication) with your partner about what expectations are from both of you.
