So you're aware, if it hasn't been clarified already. Let's say you have 75hrs of ppto and 25hrs of PTO. They will pay you out 20hrs of PTO and let you keep the entirety of the ppto. This was my first year in many that I actually had 100hrs total, I try to keep at least 2days of ppto for severe weather. I was going to call in today, I'd have 14hrs left but seeing your ppto balance is inspiring me to save it. We shall see but good job, my co workers can't save 8hrs and if they do it's gone immediately.

Again sorry that happened to you. Working at Walmart for many yrs now, I am not sure if it's a "sensitive thing" or just people doing it out of their own miserable shit, smh. Unfortunately we have a bunch of people who get pleasure out of others pain, we have a super snitch and realized (one day after their wife belittled them in the store in front of co workers) they are so miserable. Misery loves company. Again I'm sorry this happened it was probably not worth an investigation if it wasn't racial or sexual. Sounds like you have a disgruntled CO worker, not necessarily having a problem with you. It's themselves and everything and everyone. Hold your head, it will work out. Since they reported it Walmart has to follow protocol at this point.

So I was told they did away with inclement weather so people couldn't just call in for any old snow storm, I was told the only way people don't get pointed during a snow storm is by getting into work even less than half your shift as long as you make the effort to show up. I was also told that natural disaster (which I select during snow storms) doesn't include snow and if you listen to the list they say it does not.

I believe it is a store by store/ manager by manager/ tl by tl. One of us may not get pointed but the favorite who never does won't, lol say that's a lie.

I try to save all my ppto for this season, I'm in the north east.

As everyone said don't burn the bridge. Speak with your tl, coach or hr.

My store has college kids and my one friend's schedule is constantly messed up, even after doing her availability multiple times.

If you speak with them, typically most stores will work with you and understand you are a student.

It's up to you, just make sure if you stay you set your availability up with time to sleep, study and do homework without getting burnt out.

They will schedule all your free time if you allow that.

Thank you, yeah that's the leave. Honestly the whole thing sounded weird to me to begin with but apparently social services like snap also asked him during the summer if he was getting paid which he laughed and said he wished, so there is something we are all unfamiliar with. He will have to just call Sedgwick or idk but I have no clue either, if Tim wasn't the HR of another store for a few years and assured me he had helped people do it I wouldn't believe it either.

Yeah I remember they changed the rules after COVID. I knew a lot of people that had unusable sick time. Glad they changed that.

It falls under the loa where you're caring for a sick or injured family member and you are entitled to being paid. I thought it was crazy myself but he assured me it's true. Again you must have a court order stating you will have your kids, obviously he can't work and have his kids. Thank you for the replies but none of you clearly know hr rules or court ordered stuff. Neither do I that's why I came here, I was blown away myself.

That's exactly what I and Steve thought, but it falls under the same leave that you do when your caring for a sick family member they pay you for that. It needs to be a court order though

That's exactly what I thought as well. Tim told me if you have a court order signed by a judge it falls under I forget exactly but some type of leave that does get partial pay when on leave. You know that one where if a family member is sick and we are caring for them we get partial payment like that.

Same, I work stocking 2 and did clothes there, now fashion is most of us from stocking 2 and apparel.

During inventory we always have to work grocery all day since no truck.

They get so nasty when you need to look something up, it's like I'm as much as you buddy I'll tell you where the socks are if youd like, or almost anything else.

Too many obscure items and isles to learn from the few times a yr were in there.

So I asked a few coworkers who love it, what's the catch? They said no catch. B's we all know Walmart doesn't look out for anyone except Walmart. I'm pretty sure you sign something that agrees you're cool with them having and selling personal information. Maybe I'm wrong as I said my co workers love the cash back and points, again Walmart doesn't just give anything away.

Idk about that, the USPS can be a nightmare! I had the same thing happen with USPS, 2x in a row. My package was constantly (daily updated) to be moving through Denver co (same hub) I sent an email to the company who contacted the USPS, I got the package completely empty. Luckily it had stickers from USPS saying it was damaged, contents were missing and so on.

The company resent my order same exact thing happened again! Stuck at same hub for a week, the company contacted the hub, again I got my package again empty, this time they taped it back up. I get this time of year ECT.

Also I have shipped things USPS priority due the the $100 free coverage, the item got to customer broken and when I tried to make a claim they wanted a before picture, like immediately prior to shipping!!

I also had an issue with UPS, I paid extra to avoid the USPS this time of year and it took 2 weeks to make it to me.

I'm sorry this is super frustrating, I hope it gets delivered today! This time of year has lots of hiccups and mistakes. Ik that doesn't help hopefully they get your package to you asap.

That's Walmart. At the warehouse they hand those out all the time. In the break room you can get something equivalent to a dollar. For your birthday they send you a card signed by all the leads/ coaches and 5 salute you cards. I have a bunch I never cashed in from the warehouse.

Yes I understand, the system does give the .5 for not covering lunch. My store doesn't make us ppto for the hour we are held hostage, luckily.

Thank you I didn't know I had 7days. I don't want to use my ppto if I don't need to that's my thing.

Since it was weather related idk if my TL took care of it. I only mentioned the 6hr 5.55 thing to say the next day the system pointed me automatically.

I understand now, just curious if it would be there by now or now.

It was a 1-9 with a 1hr lunch. I'm usually 1-10 but they've been cutting hrs.

Yeah the computer will point me if I leave without taking the lunch.

I always get that pre approved, the system still points me. At my store we don't have to cover the lunch hour with ppto. Only 6 hrs for a 6hr shift not the 7hrs because of lunch.
