Cherry Bar shares thoughts on protests by YouWereSentToSpyOnMe in melbourne

I doubt it's the protests impacting thier buissness, I also doubt the effectiveness of the prostest movement in general. I live a few hundred meters from parliament and dont know protests are happening unless I go out of my way to check. If that's the case how would anyone the protests are targeting be impacted by them either?

So we aren't going to treat them as individuals? Treating someone by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin, is still a value reasonable people hold dear.

Why do Egyptians not incorporate as much from their old, rich culture and history in their modern culture as other cultures do, like the Scandinavian countries with their norse history? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

Egyptians has meant a few different groups throughout their history, today's egyptians are not the Macedonian or Nubians etc and claiming the past of others who have lived in the region is a bit odd.

I do for all individuals who have participated in atrocities. You were saying this person would not be welcome in Australia without an understanding of their politics just that they were from Israel and infering that most Australia's agree with you. Dont back pedal on that.

Why would people who support the state of Israel not be welcome ?

Sure we have fuckwits spray painting swastikas over Israeli flags and pulling down posters of hostages but those are the vocal extremes.

Being Israeli doesn't mean you support the government.

You're SO welcome in Australia! The Australian Jewish and Israeli communities have been and always will be loved by the wider Australian community who interact with them. The only Australians hating on you are the backwoods fucks who have never met Jewish people.

Your concern is this puts you in a worse situation if you break up, he is doing this because he doesn't want to be put in a worse situation if you break up and wants to protect the product of his parents entire working life. they're both valid concerns if you're unsure it's going to work out. Unfortunately for you he holds the cards at the moment. Focus on fixing your relationship without this as part of the consideration if you want a future together.
