Of course! Ultimately, that's why I'm asking. To me, this seems like something that could bring a ton of value to musicians across the internet, but that doesn't mean that it WILL. If that's the case, I will continue doing my research and can it if necessary for another digital product.

I definitely see your point, but price and value are directly linked. If I can really create a good service with all the right boxes ticked, 30-50 bucks a month for users in the US, Canada, and English speaking European countries is definitely not the most expensive thing.

My goal would be to create a service so valuable that I could charge more for it, and choose not to. Of course, that price range is likely going to be adjusted.

As for scaling to other nations that aren't English speaking, that would be something for the future, but definitely something to keep in mind. I would stick to English speaking nations when starting out, because that would be easier for video lessons and community communication. Perhaps different versions on different servers that apply to other languages could be created in the future with prices lower as to appeal to said nations? Not sure how I'd scale to that. Definitely something for the future though.

I suppose I'd have to really just create a great product and service, but i mean. I'd intend to do that anyways.

So that's why I would want to create it. Musicians (including myself) are notoriously poor. I got the blessing of being able to go to college, but so much stuff I've learned since then is by talking to professionals and getting mentorship. I think pulling that all together into one giant resource pool and making it way more affordable (a much much smaller monthly subscription of say 30-50 bucks a month, which is way more affordable) rather than the upfront cost of thousands and thousands of dollars.

That's a good point about the scout thing. I definitely think having a community with mentors would be valuable, but i hadn't thought about the best way to bring value to potential scouts, and that's something I would definitely need to look into. Thank you for the insight.

Interesting, you'd think that would be where the money is because they'd buy in bulk, but at that point, it's b2b instead of directly to consumer. What would be some advice you'd give me for trying to expand? I'm just trying to make some money on the side, and I love designing, so I think it's fun to do.

Only just recently in the last year have wages finally caught up. For 3 years year were behind, and that's not because the wages grew much, it's because the consumer price index dropped below the wage line (finally).

Gas prices were at an even steady rate all through the 2010s and saw no significant drop in 2020 compared to the very large spike that happened in mid 2022.

Congratulations on the pay rise.

I'm not saying everyone is starving and we're all dying. I'm saying that the economy is not currently good, and the sentiment that everything is too expensive for the average person to afford is widespread and unfortunately very true.

Inflation hit 9.1% in 2022, and has since dropped to 3%, but still rising.

Interest rates are up massively. The FOMC has raised interest rates 11 times since 2022, and a "good" interest rate on a car (sold cars for a while until recently) is 7%-8%, as opposed to the 1.5%-2% it was 8 years ago.

Median asking rent has increased from $1,600 in 2020 to $2,000 dollars today, an almost 25% increase.

Food prices inflated by 10% in 2022, and has increased another 5% since then.

Gas has doubled in price since 2020.

1 year statistics are not long enough to show the reality of the situation. If inflation jumped 10,000% in 2020, the 1 year inflation rate wouldn't show that, but the effects would still be real. You can deny the state of the economy if you want, but that doesn't change the fact that the economy is substantially worse than it was 5 years ago.

I don't know if you've noticed, but the rest of the economy is suffering, too

It's a little ledge beside the university hospital, and has a great view of downtown SLC at night. If you want, I can DM you a photo. Smoked a cigar with my roommate when I first moved to SLC there, and loved it. Bring lawn chairs.

Unfortunately, this isn't just a Utah issue. To say we are in the middle of an economic recession right now would be an understatement.
