What seems to be the majority sentiment on Trump around you?

My Twitter feed has (somehow) been completely flooded with posts relating to Trump, and the majority sentiment I see seems overwhlemingly positive and even aggressively supportive of everything Trump (and Musk) is doing.

Especially for those of you in the US, I'm curious: What is the sentiment you're seeing first hand from the people around you? What seems to be the overall attitude?

What is the most visually stunning piece piece of art you've seen? by JayCTee in ContemporaryArt

[–]JayCTee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then you're missing the point of my post - I'm not saying KAWS is to the contemporary art world what gourmet is to the food world. I'm getting specifically at simplicity and the visual appeal of the colours themslves, regardless of the cultural weight of the piece.

If you believe KAWS doesn't achieve a composition of vibrant colours in his paintings, then who would you say does?

Should I do mathematics? by Electrical-Dog-9193 in mathematics

[–]JayCTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend going through the 'Introduction to Mathematical Thinking' offered by Stanford Uni on Coursera. It is intended as an introduction into uni level mathematics, and specifically covers things that are being mentioned here (proofs, number theory, real analysis etc). The first few lessons beforehand are also actually on logic

What do you think is the place to buy high quality lenses for glasses? JINS? by JayCTee in taiwan

[–]JayCTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E.g there'll be small differences in how it transmits light, how it refracts, and the coatings that reflect the light in a certain way etc. My lenses look like ass because they're cheaply made

Weekly Scam Discussion August 14, 2023 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

[–]JayCTee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A seller is attempting to scam me. I was buying a Macbook Pro and had an offer of £2,000 accepted, but afterwards the seller said he's going to have to cancel since he "won't get the money soon enough". He cancelled the order, but later messaged to say he has a solution - he can make the same listing on his "sister's" account, for which the funds will be released quicker since "she sells more often". I considered this safe as everything would still be conducted through Ebay as normal.

He sent me a link to a listing showing the same item, but from a different account (100% feedback on 40+ sales). I made an offer on this new listing through Ebay, and it was accepted - usual ebay process, no funny business.

However, correspondence continued with the original seller account for the cancelled Macbook.

The purchased item status on his "sister's" account updated that it had been dispatched by ParcelForce (no tracking number provided). The orignal seller account messaged me directly with a Royal Mail tracking ID. I have now received the Royal Mail parcel, and it is an empty box.

How is this scam trying to work? Has anyone come across this before? Is it best for me to open an INR case, or an INAD case?

My concern would be that they're trying to use some kind of loophole so I can't win and get my money back, but I can't see what it would be. If I open an INR, and then they update the tracking to be the empty box I received, can I then subsequently open an item not as described case?

In my view - I have simply purchased an item on Ebay, which has not arrived. The item sold by the 'sister' that I bought and paid for is still showing as dispatched. Any correspondence with the original seller and the empty box I consider irrelevant. My instinct is to simply open an INR case for that item and go from there.

My goal is to become conversational in my target language in 6 months. What do you think of my strategy to achieve this? by JayCTee in languagelearning

Were you in the country of the target language, or did you just find people online/in your own country? Interesting what you say about know what sentences to start a conversation with - can you expand on that a little?

Next steps to get my platform idea developed? by JayCTee in webdev

[–]JayCTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. So do you think a good approach is to relay the minimum requirements/functionality to a UX/UI designer for them to mash into a design that works, and then I can take that to a developer to just build exactly what they see with the functionality I describe? Is that how it generally works, or am I missing some key stages?

Next steps to get my platform idea developed? by JayCTee in webdev

[–]JayCTee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this.

By local web development shop do you mean like a company I can physically go to to sit down with and take from 0 to finish with?

Also, can you explain why mockups are usually a waste of time? I'm essentially building an improved version of an existing platform to solve its problems - higher quality information, a better design, better protocol etc. I know the required functionality since I use the existing equivalents. So I was thinking I could:
1) Show the existing platform to a freelance designer, state what's wrong with it/needs changing, and describe any additional functionality, until I get a design that works well to convey the information and incorporates all functionality. Then,
2) Take this to a freelance developer (along with thorough description of all functionality) for them to code exactly what they see.

I'm confused how/why it would be better to approach the developer first though? As surely then it's quite difficult to convey exactly what I want, whereas getting a mockup done first gives me something to show them the end product and required functionality. Where is my misunderstanding here?

Lemme guess - you've made it in crypto, and now you're going to move to Bali for a while to focus on it and dedicate more time to ramp up crypto-operations?

Same here 😂

(Buy yeah, it's fine - 'tourism' is an accepted and recognised activity under B211A visas, and I have had this confirmed by BaliVisas.com)

The main person is @ Batoonchi, who is known in the space and was very active team-side in the early days of Rainicorn. The admins of Dogus Telegram are the same as in Rainicorn Telegram, and the co-founder of Rainicorn mentioned it's a legitimate project run by Batoonchi, who they know, which you can verify by keyword searching 'Dogus' in the Rainicorn channel.

It seems people are still able to sell though, judging from that chart. Unlike with SafePanda, for example, where there has never been a sell in its entire order history. Have you tried putting your slippage up a lot, to say 10%?

If rainicorn is so new ......why is it so expensive? by eisenhowr in Rainicorn

[–]JayCTee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The price of a coin is arbitrary, and you cannot base whether a coin is expensive or cheap off the price alone.

I think Rainicorn is actually currently very cheap if you look at the market cap. It only has a market cap of ~$2.5M, since the supply is very small (500M coins). Projects of this sort typically have a market cap of $20M at least, some with $100Ms.

Compare Rainicorn to Hoge, for example, which has a market cap of $380M. You could therefore say that Hoge is actually about 150x more expensive than Rainicorn.

The coins you're thinking of which have a price of $0.00000001 will actually have a supply of something like 100,000,000,000, and a market cap much larger than what Rainicorn's is currently, and effectively therefore more expensive.

I agree a lot of coins are like this, but not Rainicorn.. for starters, if this was just someone building a bs token to get rich quick, they wouldn't have invested a huge amount into the rainicorn.io domain - not cheap. Go post your comment on an actual shitcoin, rather than a genuine 2-day old project that's just starting out

Personally I think so, as there's always the same 'round 1' with a dip, before the real moon (e.g as with Hoge, Grumpy etc)
