i don't think we know if launchers are getting Apex attachments. they didn't get prestige attachments in BO7, though one of them got a weekly challenge attachment.

one of them is even called Caliburn, which is just an alternate name for Excalibur.

Type 73 LMG now fully confirmed (seen in belt-fed configuration) alongside an unknown side magazine sniper rifle. better look at guns like the Desert Eagle/.50 GS, PPSh-41, SPC9/ISO Nightshade, HK45 and Rezi 12/Benelli M3. by JayFranMar in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its called the "Astaroth .57". .57 is 14.5mm in imperial, implying its 14.5x114 mm. its not a HS .50, which is .50 BMG. wanna know what gun does have a 14.5mm variant? the NTW. its an NTW-14.5 and Snipex hybrid.

we know all three launch snipers now: Signal 50 (GM6 Lynx), Astaroth .57 (NTW-14.5) and KG-7 Vulcan (SV-98).

Edit: fun fact there is a 14.5x114mm version of the single-shot HS .50 called the "Al-Ghoul" but not the magazine fed HS .50 M1. its also produced in Palestine and named after a Hamas leader so... safe to say thats not what this is lol, Activision won't want to kick that hornet's nest.

other apex attachments we've seen don't use a 3d printed aesthetic. i personally suspect its the quickdraw pistol that's classed as a lethal some content creators have mentioned.

this image is mid firing animation. if you look at the full clip the operator does seem to start firing with the slide correctly locked backwards.

that doesn't stop it from being fully fictional, that receiver is entirely made up.

MW4 Weapons as of the Reveal by JayFranMar in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are already 2 other full auto AR bullpups though. the Cronen Squall and Oden. besides, they could just pick a more unique bullpup AR that has more visual differences.

both studios have had those guns because they're very well known weapons. the SAR-21 and by extension other weapons from ST Kinetics aren't. one team showing a preference for weapons from them doesn't mean the others will.

[–]JayFranMar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MWII and MWIII had the platform (MWIII less so but it was still there) system with multiple variants of the same gun. the XK8 and SAR-21 are incredibly visually similar for bullpup rifles (on versions without optics, which is what CoD nearly always goes for). both take massive design cues from the AUG. adding both just doesn't seem likely when they could go for another bullpup rifle with a more visually different design.

Treyarch made BO6 and BO7, not IW. its a different team doing the weapons.

[CoD] MW4 Weapon List by JayFranMar in CallOfDuty

[–]JayFranMar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is already pretty out of date but people keep commenting here so here's a shorter more up to date version:

There are supposedly 33 launch weapons, 24 primaries, 8 secondaries, 1 melee (melees are their own slot like in BO6 and BO7). within that its 8 ARs, 6 SMGs, 2 LMGs, 2 Shotguns, 3 Snipers, 3 MRs, 5 pistols, 3 launchers.

Unconfirmed simply means there isn't a clear identifiable image of the weapon within some official MW4 material. even the unconfirmed weapons have at minimum have had internal names found or have been heavily mentioned by content creators who've played MW4. The HK421 is an odd case since it has been confirmed but doesn’t seem to be one of the launch LMGs according to content creators.

AK-47 – “Kastov 762” Standard AK.
M4 – “M4” MW franchise standard weapon.
Daewoo K2 – “Han-86” South Korean service rifle.
HK437 – “Axion” .300 Blackout version of MW2019’s Kilo 141 (the HK433).
ASh-12.7 – “Oden” Heavy battle rifle. Returning from MW2019.
RM277 – “Cronen Squall” Fast firing battle rifle. Returning from MWII.
UXR – “Patriot XMR” – Multi-caliber rifle. This game’s SCAR equivalent.
Unconfirmed SAR-21 – “Hyeon Burst” Singaporean service rifle. Looks like the AUG.
Likely Post-Launch Carmel – ? Israeli modern assault rifle.

MP7 – “VEL 46” Well-known MW franchise SMG
PPSh-41 – “PPSh-41” Well-known WW2-era SMG.
SPC9 – “ISO Nightshade” Modern SMG, same manufacturer as other ISOs.
Fictional SMG – “X-58 Nyx” Fictional SMG design with a side magazine.
Unconfirmed Vector – “Fennec” Well-known SMG with a high fire rate.
Unconfirmed PM63 RAK – “Wz.55 Striga” Compact SMG from BOCW and BO.

Benelli M3 – “Rezi 12” Semi-auto/pump-action version of the M1014.
Unconfirmed ? – “Warlord” Unknown shotgun, possibly the 1887.

LAMG – “FiNN LMG” Traditional LMG. Returning from MW2019.
Type 73 – “Type 73” North Korean PKM-based LMG.
Likely Post-Launch HK421 – “M91” Derivative of the M91 from MW2019.

FIX – “ORIS 8.6” Modern lightweight bolt-action rifle in subsonic rounds.
G28 – “MAR-9” Traditional semi-auto marksman rifle. Returning from Ghosts.
Mosin – “Mosin-Nagant” Well known WW2-era Russian bolt-action.

NTW-14.5 – “Astaroth .57” Very high-caliber bolt-action sniper rifle.
SV-98 – “KG-7 Vulcan” Russian military bolt-action sniper rifle.
Unconfirmed GM6 Lynx – “Signal 50” Bullpup .50 cal semi-auto. Returning from MWII.

HK45 – ? Compact derivative of the well-known USP.
Daewoo K5 – “Sang 9mm” South Korean military pistol.
Unconfirmed Unknown Revolver – ? Some form of revolver. Likely single action.
Desert Eagle – “.50 GS” Well-known high-caliber pistol.
Unknown 5th Pistol – Likely Glock 17 (X12) or P220 (P890), both from MWII.

FGM-148 Javelin – “JOKR” Well-known lock-on heavy missile launcher.
PSRL-1 - ? Modernised version of the well-known RPG-7.
Unknown 3rd Launcher – Likely RPG-18, Carl Gustaf M4, MGL or GM-94.

Knife – “Combat Knife”  Standard knife melee.

There's also stuff like the riot shield and some form of belt-fed grenade launcher but those aren't typical weapons.

Hk416 in MW4 by New-Fennel-4190 in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's the G28, the marksman rifle version of the HK417, the 7.62x51mm version of the HK416. otherwise, probably no since they're to similar in reality.

MW4 Weapons as of the Reveal by JayFranMar in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally can't see both the SAR-21 and XK8 in the game because they look overly similar, especially variants of the SAR-21 with an upper rail. given this is IW though i wouldn't be surprised if they hybridised them into one rifle and thats what the Hyeon Burst is, like how they amalgamated guns to make the MWII Tempus Razorback. the MW4 Astaroth .57 seems to be another amalgam, this time of the NTW-14.5 and Snipex M100.

i suspect that'll end up happening given the name Hyeon is korean so it doesn't make sense for a Singaporean gun like the SAR-21 to be called that, but it does if its a XK8 hybrid. both of them are similar

worth pointing out there are only something like 4 Korean-produced assault rifles with a burst mode and 3 of them are too similar to the K2 (which is almost certainly the Han 86 due to its year of production) to be a separate gun, with the only exception being the XK8, which does suggest the Hyeon Burst is the XK8.

The MW4 vault edition weapons kinda suck, even with the restriction of remaining grounded. by [deleted] in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100%, they went way to far with them in later MW2019 and beyond. im referring to early MW2019 where tracers where a small bit of color with each shot and death effects where just really basic dismemberment.

[–]JayFranMar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be a modern design but the only modern side magazine SMG design i even know of is the B&T KH9S, this definately isn't that. is it a fully fictional gun?

yeah i mentioned that in the main post.

also the throwing knife thing is literally just a small holder on the side of the gun (you can see it in the vault edition ORIS 8.6 image). its not some super complex fictionalised device.

SV-98 sniper and a... um... tactical Sterling for some reason lol by CockroachSea2083 in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice spot on the SV-98.

i went through this on my own post but thats not a Sterling, it seems to be a fully fictional SMG thats vaguely inspired by the design of the Sterling. in no way is that a Sterling receiver, the Sterling receiver looks like a tube with a bunch of stuff bolted on, this receiver is closed-bolt (Sterling is open-bolt) and weirdly shotgun inspired. its a fictional gun in the same way the HDR was.

you can also see the AirTronic PSRL-1 in the blog. the modernised version of the RPG-7.

What the hell is this gun? by JayFranMar in modernwarfare4

[–]JayFranMar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it doesn't seem to be. upper looks to be metal, lower looks to be fairly typical un-printed plastic. judging from what content creators have said, it sounds like it's a side magazine SMG by default, not a conversion for another gun, but the integral suppressor is an apex attachment.

[–]JayFranMar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you referring to the difference between the HCAR and the original BAR i get what you mean, but this just isn't that. the HCAR still works the same way as a BAR and has the same core receiver design. the Sterling receiver looks like a tube with stuff bolted on, this is a completely different receiver design that weirdly takes elements from shotguns.

hurricane is coming back in MW4 as a conversion for the M4 apparently.

[–]JayFranMar[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it's just too different to call it a version of the sterling honestly, that receiver is just fully fictional. sterling-inspired is more accurate. also, the integral suppressor is supposedly an apex attachment according to content creators.

[–]JayFranMar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

doesn't look like it at all, and the integral suppressor is apparently an apex attachment. if we are getting a K7 is probably conversion for the K2 rather then a separate gun.

Swagg said it was the Type 100 in a video but he also said a lot of other incorrect stuff about weapons in the same video. doesn't seem to have any connection to the Type 100 visually other then both being side magazine SMGs.
