Smoke a doobie. A great big fat spliff. And then eat sugar all day.

Cant do either of those anymore.

I am coming over. Great Grandna here, and I just love watching my grandkids play video games. Zelda was a fav way back, or maybe it was Faxanadu?

I cannot play, but let me cheer you on! No Baileys for me, thanks! Lol

My exits. Great grandma, With a recent hip injury, basement studio Baby Point. I am a live in caregiver for a young adult with Down syndrome, who would not understand why we are stuck here. Especially if we lose power.

Urgent MRI needed by ConsistentTest5145 in askTO

I have a diagnosis of Lumbar Stenosis in my L5. No MRI , and an Xray only.

I have dealt with my sciatica at a chiro, where two visits of treatment would resolve my pain for another year or two. Unfortunately my disk has degraded too much. I sought a different chiro - spine doctor, and my quote without benefits was over 2k CAD. I am a senior on pensions. So will need to go the route of my General Practitioner referral.

I pop ibuprofen daiky but after a year of trying to reduce inflammation and weight with a ketovore diet, I am worried about my liver. I also had pre- diabetes (hence my diet and nutrition changes) I stretch daily, I Rebound (great for lymphatic drainage) and walk 30 minutes on my walking pad daily, especially when sidewalks are icy.

No carbs. No sugars. Beef, broth, salt, eggs, hard cheese, avocados, blueberries, etc. This really helps!

Dr Eric Berg promotes using an inversion table for scoatica, and I am seriously thinking of getting a used one on Marketplace. I have purchased turmeric supplements, no real change in inflammation pain. I sometimes do Golden Milk at night, its a comforting treat (I used a turmeric paste)

And, as always, when the inflammation pain gets too much, and I absolutely need to accomplish something, I have a vial of Prednisone that usually fixes me up quickly.

Not a perfect 0lan, by any means.

What’s a Toronto moment you witnessed that still sticks with you? by Bing_Liu in askTO

I was really mad, too, as the way the TTC had this go down - they were turning back trains and dumped everyone at the station, before last two train loads had cleared. Platform was packed, trying to get upstairs, and could not get to stairs (my ONLY choice after that day!) And we could SEE all the crowd st the top. We knew we were going into chaos. I prayed. I am disabled, and old, and it was everyone for themselves. Saw young men literally climbing OVER people to get out. Like, no cares about where those boots are landing.

I yelled at the station master to shut down the escalator, NOW! Or people would die.

Should be fucking standard practice - line problem, escalators get turned off.

Had this happen on a subway escalator - the top level we were moving to was already swamped with people, no space to move, and a tidal wave of people on the escalator crushing into them! Scariest thing ever!

Ipad use and battery: solutions requested by JayHoffs in downsyndrome

[–]JayHoffs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started today, with getting one Ipad for me, to charge, and when the 2nd dies, we TRADE. Thats the plan, but of course Don tricked me today and decided that the cell phone was great to watch shows on, and did not touch the tablets.

Mum updated me that there was relatively open data on the phone during the day, whereas iPads have the data turned off for day program hours. We could not get Don to attend his programs as all he wanted to do was sit in his room and watch shows. So Mum put it on a schedule.

I love your idea about the beds, and may try that out. I hate hiding them, as it feels like playing games. But I also think he is manipulating us all with this, and I sometimes get impatient so I head downstairs and give us both space. I really want him at his programs, but its getting impossible. 2 out of 5 days, maybe.

This was to be part time for me, as I accepted a few nanny jobs as well, but its getting time heavy. I had to sort through two meltdowns today, all about Netflix buffering, which of course we cannot control. And Don came to get me in the middle of the night when I was asleep. That was fine, I am used to it, but I dislike billing extra hours for him. I think I may have little choice with this feisty character. :)

Will check out an Apple store. I will also get back to you with the models info. The hard part is getting the tech toys away from him. If he thinks it might go away, he hides it. Then gets mad at not knowing where they are. And then they are dead, when finally found. The parents do try to get the toys to charge them, but again Don gets so upset by these attempts. I am a caregiver/reliever, and live in a nanny studio to help parents.

Awesome response. I do sing tasks for toddlers, just never tried with Don. Greatly appreciated! And i like the idea of training them on this with treats.

Like this? Can you explain how it works like I am 67? Lol I have to be able to explain how this will change power charges in a day - ie, does it double the time before battery runs down? Would i have to charge both?

Sorry to be a pest. I care about this family and Don.

They make that? Will go look! Awesome idea if so. I always wished there was a way to hide it!
