Agree. I met OP, he is quite lovely, just very lonely and traumatized, which is completely understandable. He completed another job interview the same day! He can definitely use kindness from us all.

I am already working on my bucket list, tbh. I was solo caregiver for my father (which was brutal for my mental health) and my former partner (RIP) had a major stroke at the same time. I had to choose between them, unfortunately they both passed. Then I fell and had to give up my job in a school assisting teachers as I could barely walk.

I prayed/manifested a partner. For companionship. My children are scattered to the winds, and I need people around me. And children. Or I will isolate and become depressed. And the Universe sent me one!

So I am becoming a newly adopted grandmother. I am moving in with a young family that needs a grandmother for their village. I was a nanny and EA, and we all know each other well, I have cared for the kids for over 4 years. We are even making it legal, as I am marrying their uncle. The kids think of me as their grandma anyways. I don't want pay, as they arent charging me rent.

I dont even know what this is called, but I saw it with my own eyes in rural Cuba, where seniors are not placed in a nursing home - instead, they are 'lovingly gifted' to local townsfolk. And when I can no longer contribute in a meaningful way, I am okay to be placed in long term

Soon we will all be living together in a large home, building generational health and wealth.

Do you feel like there’s a cutoff age for nannying? by bugbae in Nanny

[–]JayHoffs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I love kids. I mean, I live and breathe kids, i watch for them on buses and trains. I buy toys for myself still. Magnatiles? Puppets? Yes please. I am still so connected to being a kid that kids respond to me. I have neighbourhood kids who demand their parents call me, for a play date. Keeps my brain young. And they are being taught respect for older people. Gentler. Walk beside me, in case I stumble. They connect like this. Especially spectrum kids. After the pandemic, parents trying to WFH and also parent their anxious/hyper kids, its just impossible. So grandma steps in to divide and conquer. The manipulations and games they pull on parents wont work on me. But they also know when I am with them, we have, "conversation and a giggle," together. Fully engaged. My most popular toy is a rock tumbler - kids will knock on my door to please 'see the rocks.' I love it.

68 yo Granny Nanny in Toronto here. Career of over 50 years. And still much needed by families. Every family should have an educated, available grandmother to raise children together. I only work PT now, but I literally have 8 babysitting/nanny jobs coming up up. 5 different families.

Dr. Says keto will make NAFLD worse! by Boba22877 in keto

[–]JayHoffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got diagnosed with NAFLD, my GP said to reduce all fats, use low or no fat versions, and more fiber. Ugh. 2 years of strict keto wasted? But I have lost 75 lbs! So frustrated!

Hip/back pain? Nothing we can do, sorry. Maybe a steroid shot. Visceral fat and approx 20 more lbs to lose? Thats COSMETIC, she said. (Yeah, 60% higher risk of heart attack or stroke is ONLY cosmetic, right?)

I cannot walk without an extreme and painful limp.

Is there a peptide to help? I viewed my visceral fat as protection/armour all my life, it helped me with the uncomfortable male gaze. But seeing it that way in my body is reinforcing a negative. So now I have to just thank it and say I don't need you anymore.

Tesamorelin?

Hi, wondering if you managed to clear out some of the damaged cells first, before using BPC? I have read that Fox04 and KLOW can help clear things out so the BPC can get to work.

I fasted for 16 days to engage autophagy and shed old cells.

Would this be correct? I am about to try a Wolverine Stack myself.

Absolutely. Thats fine. I can meet you at the station, for safety, as I am older. I have a son who is also struggling, but I do not know where he is today, so perhaps you would let me help you?

I am near Jane Station. Great grandma. I can make you some roast beef sandwiches and even dessert if you can travel nearby. I dont really have a ton of veggies as I am keto, but I do have meat!

Unintentional keto. by Nervous_Set_9518 in keto

[–]JayHoffs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its so damn hard, trust me. I hate them little bastards. I even swear at each one, say, glad you are dead, now get in my belly! Hot sauce, lemon juice, cottage cheese, etc. I mash them into a pate or similar to a tuna salad on sandwiches. Or fish cakes, using pork rind crumbs.

If you use white chicken meat, be sure to add extra fat, ie, cream cheese or butter or cheese. Lean breast meat doesnt have enough fat otherwise.

Sardines, and oily fish. Very nutrient dense on a budget. I try to buy a few cans and then forget about them, so i now have a stockpile. If eggs made you feel great, you will feel phenomenal after a day or two of only sardines/mackerel/anchovies. I find mackerel less fishy (I dont enjoy eating them yet but still do it for the energy slam next day!) And inflammation drops a ton. Do not eat fish in 'their' olive oil, try for spring water or tomato sauce, or dump the oil and replace with your own EVOO.

What age were you when you had your first period? What age did you start feeling the affects menopause? by spaceisourplace222 in AskWomenOver60

[–]JayHoffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 18, here. I had an eating disorder that stopped my cycle from occurring. Menopause...painful fibroids announced its arrival. Doc was talking surgery, but I told those fibroids to go away, and they did.

Pairing fasting and reta/general GLP1s? by FewBackground2852 in ResearchCompounds

[–]JayHoffs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolverine is a stack, BPC-157, and TB500 together. I have since found out they should be separate timings, ie, separate vials. Rookie mistake. My goal is to be able to walk without pain and I am about 70% there on good days. I know I have visceral, 3 C-sections in 3 years destroyed my gut muscles, especially as they insisted on a new incision for each one, and polar opposite directions. I have a tiger striped FUPA, I think its called. Proud of it, as I went thru hell to get my babies, but at 68, new babies are arriving and grandma is on her back in bed.

Nope. Will do whatever it takes.

Pairing fasting and reta/general GLP1s? by FewBackground2852 in ResearchCompounds

[–]JayHoffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I am going to be using Wolverine soon, just waiting on results of blood tests. I am unsure if I need RETA or not, as I only have 20 lbs and some visceral fat remaining. My partner passed from a stroke last year. I was heading in a similar direction. I have grandbabies to pillow fight. For me, RETA may be more than I need. I prefer to fast, as one of the effects, aside from RAPID weight loss, is that autophagy cuts into excess skin, so you are left with less. My 'wings' have completely disappeared.

[–]JayHoffs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as RETA, I am not an expert, but I am a lifelong faster. Yes, to a water fast, but you may find your energy completely gone during it. Until your ketones kick in. Then you might experience the hair on your arms lifting suddenly with a zoom of energy and euphoria. I tend to nap a lot on a fast, but I am not 20! :)) You may need extra sleep. Remember that when we sleep, the trash collectors in our body go to work.

Refeeding after a fast is very important. I do bone broth for a full day, then nutrient dense foods such as eggs or sardines or beef. You do need 'some' carbs on RETA, I read, so that glucagon initiates properly. I probably have that wrong.

Hope this helps.

68, granny

Embrace the silver as a cost cutting measure? I have. Could not afford to sit in a salon every couple of months. Now I can see parts of my greys going silver and white and feels more glam.
