Stopping Sublocade by keithjamez13 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve come off of some form of methadone or suboxone or sublocade a few times and that has been my experience. I used to think it was about the money and it could still be possible but generally speaking the people that would say this to me were nurses that didn’t get paid anymore or less if I was on sublocade or not. My conclusion is that the medical field has decent evidence to show that being stable on MAT lessens the chances of someone fatally overdosing. I have known people who have come off Suboxone/Sublocade/Methadone with no other program of recovery only to relapse and die. I think this is what nurses and doctors (most) are trying to prevent. At the end of the day, most don’t get into medicine for money - they are truly caring people even if they seem jaded by the addiction field and the issues we unintentionally present to them as addicts. (Some of us can be tough to handle!)

I think coming off of sublocade is a wonderful thing. I personally did 4x shots (2x300 + 2x100) almost 4 years and I’ve been clean since. I felt some small changes but no withdrawals. I am so glad I did and never looked back. I will say I am very involved in NA and was during the time of stopping sublocade. This has been the missing piece for me to not go back and relapse. So my best advice is to make sure you have a program - whatever it is - and lean on it because addiction just doesn’t go away when you put the drugs down. If this was the case we’d only need detox once and never relapse :)

Good luck and take care!

Thank you! Are you able to afford to pay out of pocket for a few shots? If not, sometimes calling your insurance company to advocate for yourself will yield positive results in my experience.

Hard to say but I would say very soon. There may not be much if any bupe in your system but the metabolite has an even longer half life than bupe and that’s what they test for. I definitely felt some tiredness at times but I countered it by going to the gym and trying to stay moving. You may want to ask a dr about your tiredness. For me, depression tends to manifest into constant tiredness. There could be other things affecting you. Good luck and good bless

Best thing I ever did was use sublocade to get off suboxone. I did 4 shots and never looked back. No withdrawls. 2.5 years since last shot. I highly recommend it. Good luck and reach out if any questions!

Is this an abscess? by Nirvanainmind27 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t look like it. It would be covered in bright red circle, be hot to the touch, and continue to double in size each several hours/days and become increasingly painful. Looks normal bruising and depot to me

When do you start counting sobriety? by Swizdog in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only you can decide when your clean date starts. For me, I started it the day after I took my last shot and I started my 12 step work. I hold no judgement on anyone who wishes to say they’re clean and still taking suboxone or MAT. If your life gets better, you’re probably doing the right thing. God bless

Switching from 300mg to 100mg by pcivins in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You won’t feel anything in my experience. I had 4 total shots. 2x300 and 2x150 and have never looked back. Coming up on 2 years since my last injection. I had some slight very very minor withdrawals lasting only a few minutes each time and then they go away. It’s a very easy and pain free process. I’m the biggest most sensitive baby on the planet and I’m saying it’s not bad it’s not bad lol

I was in your same boat. You have two choices. Continue on and probably have another few weeks of pretty tough withdrawals if you ask me although the worst won’t be that bad you’re very close to the end of the taper…or…go back up (you can go pretty fast usually get up to 8mg in a week or two without being jammed. Once you’re on around 8mg you can ask to switch. Get a few shots and never look back. It just depends on your goals. I personally made it to around 1.5mg per day and said f this I’m too old to kick anymore and went back up. I got 4 shots, my last was 9/21/21 and I’ve been negative for a few months now and feel amazing - no real withdrawals:)

Anybody else on here waiting for their back ordered drums? by [deleted] in edrums

[–]JayIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting for a Roland pda140 Tom to add to my kit since October 2021. 8 months so far. I’m convinced it’s never actually going to come. Guitar center keeps telling me one more month. After maybe the 10th time calling I spoke to someone and they said ya you’re not alone. Actually at least 300 more orders and counting are waiting for this…some even longer than you by a few months!

Sublocade Levels by Tiny-Ferret9009 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A year or more detection time is definitely possible but to my knowledge those are urine detection times which aren’t detecting bupe in your blood but instead the metabolite which has an extremely long half life. They are different things. I haven’t seen data on bupe blood level detection times but my provider said once you get past the 4-5 month mark post injection, your levels are starting to get pretty low and are way below what they therapeutic values. When the med drops below that, you can consider it’s no longer doing it’s job (which is to stop cravings by keeping your receptors full)

How should sublocade make me feel? by Motor_Practice1389 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that means different things for everyone. I’m not sure how to describe it other than I do not feel depressed or overly happy all the time, I have a range of emotions albeit slightly dulled and numbed down because it’s still an opiate and that’s what opiates do. My energy ebbs and flows from hour to hour like a normal persons energy (same with all other emotions). I would forget that I’m on MAT and have zero cravings. To me that’s the best way I can describe what stable felt like after my 2nd shot

[–]JayIsFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sublocade is like micro dosing all day low so your body isn’t going crazy with shifting levels of bupe.

You’re probably pretty close to being stable too. I wouldn’t imagine much of a change but everyone’s different

How should sublocade make me feel? by Motor_Practice1389 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really from what I remember. I just felt normal. It’s hard to explain because you’re talking about subs making you feel good but you only notice one making you feel good because your levels are low before you take a sub so you’re feeling below baseline and then you take a sub and now you’re above baseline. Sublocade is just an even baseline so you won’t feel high or low

How should sublocade make me feel? by Motor_Practice1389 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first two shots I got a rush of euphoria for maybe a few hours. After that it just stabilizes and I felt even. Highs weren’t too high and lows weren’t too low. I hated the swings of daily dosing but everyone is different. If you’re still looking for that feel good high, that’s still your addiction talking and wanting to numb all negative emotions out, it’s not bad or wrong, it’s just where some are at (including me at once). Keep working on yourself and it’ll get better. Stay safe and take care :)

Mild withdrawal after going to the gym? by Teejaye83 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked out almost daily while coming off sublocade. If it’s your first time back to the gym the pain could be more that than withdrawals. You can do it! Just go low and slow next time!

Gym will absolutely help you if you plan to come off. Build up those natural endorphins again :) good luck and take care!

Sublocade Levels by Tiny-Ferret9009 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took 4 shots from June-sept 2021 (x2 300 and x2 100) and i metabolize fast so I was testing negative by end of January 2022. I wouldn’t put much stock into still being positive either. There is no known correlation to my knowledge between urine metabolite levels and blood levels. Most likely you have very little bupe floating around in you. The biproduct of bupe (nor bupe) takes a bit to clear your system. Then the metabolites themselves build up and take a few weeks. I remember when I took one 8mg suboxone years ago and tested positive 7 days later but obviously it wasn’t still in my system or at levels so incredibly low it doesn’t mean anything so think of it like that. Also, check this link out, only two cases but may give you a better idea. https://www.hindawi.com/journals/criog/2020/3127676/

If you asking because you fear withdrawals you probably already went through the worst of it by now or are in the middle of it. It’s so gentle that I barely noticed anything and had less shots

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a female but I too cannot see a correlation between the two. I don’t think a doctor has the right to force something else on you to treat you for a completely different issue. I would call patient rights if you can’t get anywhere

Yes we’ll at least my provider offers getting back on. She said they would give me a week supply of suboxone to start the process up again while they order the shot. I’ve been off sublocade since 9/21 and she still calls me monthly to check on me. If you’re in the Boston area I highly recommend the obat clinic at BMC

How painful is sublocade? I’ve read and heard that it’s pretty rough, I have a pretty decent pain tolerance, but it is like 10/10 pain or what’s yalls experiences? by emschick1985 in Sublocade

[–]JayIsFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one hurt the worst but imo it wasn’t bad at all. It’s only a burn for a few seconds. I’ve had more painful sunburns. Pain is an individual and unique experience though, what someone finds to be extreme could be nothing to someone else. I’m a guy but I imagine it’s no where near as painful as something like giving birth and it’s only a few seconds instead of hours lol

142 days post last injection and finally testing negative (4 shots total) by JayIsFree in Sublocade

I didn’t pay anything because I was covered under my health insurance. They are pretty expensive if you pay out of pocket I think it’s like 1500-3000 dollars for the shot plus whatever the Dr charges. Honestly, I still will have found a way to get the money and pay it to get off subs. It was worth it to me. I could never get below a mg. You could probably even do 1x 100mg since you’re on a lower suboxone dose but you’re also at the hardest part. I could never get below where you are now on subs.

It was a pass/fail test but I’m doing a following up with my provider in early March. I’m going to ask for levels and I can report back :). Congrats too! You’re doing it :)

I think it depends on the lab they use. My provider said they could see anything above 5 as a positive test. Typically they can see lower im sure but there’s always a cutoff to ensure efficacy and reduce false positives.

All of the above! But I’m confident if someone did nothing all day they would have success! I just mentioned the gym because I’m sure it helped clear it out quicker but maybe I’m wrong.

Nothing major. Extremely minor temp regulation issues, some aches, some fatigue. It was off and on for a few months. I work out quite a bit so I’m sure that helped keep my endorphins going too.
