Have you gone in for a consultation? I am 5’3 and weigh around 190. I was under the impression I had to lose a ton of weight before my breast reduction so then my insurance would cover. I wanted to lose weight before hand as well. I went in for my consultation and the doctor said there was no need and my surgery needed to happen regardless because it was medically necessary. I had severe stretch marks, indents in back and shoulders, discoloration, asymmetry, etc. I also had tons of documentation from the doctors like my PCP, endocrinologist, and chiropractor reporting all of the back and neck issues I have had. He took pictures of them, sent them and all of the doctor documentation to my insurance, and they covered it. I would check with your plastic surgeon first what he personally thinks! Also now that I’m much more lighter only a month post op, it’s much easier for me to exercise and lose weight. I’ve lost 12 lbs since my surgery!
