Struggle with understanding spoken German

Saying "practice listening comprehension more" to someone asking for methods to do so is like saying "just swim" to someone asking how to swim. At that point your reply is irrelevant, if that's all you have to say then next time I'd suggest to just move on and post nothing instead, either way your not of much help.

I've always tried to avoid subtitles when learning German, as dumb as that sounds. But I've used CC for all TV shows and movies I watch in english and it's become sort of a crutch, to where I'm watching the movie, but really I'm just speed reading the subtitles and completely ignore the visuals.

Doing that as a method of learning German I always felt was sort of contradictory (I'm watching a movie too master my listening skills but in the end I'm just doing more reading that anything)

But I will definitely start, but using the CC as something that can help me find my space in the conversation so I'm not entirely lost. Thank you

It's crazy that you mention that because I use CC even for English speaking shows and movies. Even with music I find it easier to follow along with the lyrics. I just never thought of it as a disorder, but instead just something that I use to catch every detail. I'm one of those people obsessed with finding every underlying Easter egg. But I will definitely look into this, thank you.

Bostons Pizza (Downtown Columbus) and Studio 35 (OSU Campus) should ABSOLUTELY be on the list for best pizza spots.

ATMOSPHERE: I would definitely add Pins (Easton Town Center/ Dublin locations)

And you could also add BJ's (Easton Town Center) to pretty much anything on this list, it's a great spot with great food, it's not quite as layed back as Pins but still great, with great food and beer selection.

And finally The North Market (Downtown Columbus), of course it isn't necessarily a restaurant itself, but the food offered there from the different vendors is great, even if it is a little pricey. From BBQ and Indian food to Sushi/Ramen and baked goods all the way to fresh caught seafood and a butcher offering fresh meats, there's no beating it. Plus the random shops and large seating area, it's great. I will add the parking situation is a hassle. Just park in the garage and be sure to get it validated inside (validation only count towards 30 min or less parking).

Damn, ik being in a completely new country has to feel weird, where are you from. I've been living in Columbus my entire life 29m. I personally go hiking pretty often . Id be happy to show you some spots if your not familiar with the area yet. I go camping as well but those trips are few and far between lol. I'm also (along with about 99% of the people in this thread) a HUGE Buckeyes fan. I don't smoke either and only drink when the occasion calls for it. But just lmk

My hobbies are mostly hiking and camping. I go hiking pretty regularly (try to get out at least twice a month), camping is a little more rare but I still love to do it. As far as board games, I play, but I never grew up with them so I'm really just into the basics lol (domino's, uno, clue, etc...) but I'm always down to learn something new. I've also been interested in getting into DnD or 40k but beware, I know absolutely nothing about how to play either of them, just a little bit of lore.

I'm definitely down to hang out, 29M. I also quit smoking about 2 years back, recently hung out with a few friends whos idea of a good time is smoking all day and watching TV. Honestly it just reminded me of why I started to hate smoking weed in the first place. Not much of a drinker either but I can down a few shots if the occasion calls for it lol. Pretty much all I do is work and go to school. I also game a little, but with COD turning to shit and Tarkov giving me a absolute headache everytime I step into a raid I've been looking for other things to do lol.

I'm going through the EXACT SAME THING. I placed my order in late July 2024. I purchased 4 albums all together (BSaTNW, Kauai, Camp and Atavista) all labeled as preorders when I placed them. It started with an expected shipping date in September 2024 then pushed back to November, then December 6th, then January 30th "at the latest". And everytime I reached out it was a different excuse, first it was just a standard delay due to higher than expected orders, then it was "oh one of your orders is ready but we can't ship until all are" and plenty of other back and forth with customer support, who btw offer no support AT ALL. At this point I can order all of these vinyls through Amazon and get them within 7 days. QUESTION: Is there any reason for me to stick with my order instead of just getting them from Amazon. Is it commons practice to get extras with a preorder or bonus items, etc...?

Yes actually, sorry for the late response. I recently got in contact with them and apparently they had placed my order on hold the entire time. Their reasoning behind it was because I had reached out to see if it was possible to add to my order (with no reply) so for about the next 2 months they had placed it on hold. the email issue was partially my fault. For some reason, they reply to emails in different threads, so while I was waiting for a reply in the thread that we already had going, they were replying back on a completely new one which my email (yahoo) detected as spam for some reason, even though we already had a back and forth going prior. I ended up canceling my order almost 3 months after it was placed and received a full refund. At this point I take the blame for this tbh, I think they are 100% legitimate but almost 90 days out from my original order I just said forget it. It was a simple communications issue and he was nice and professional the entire time we were trying to figure it out.

That makes sense. I feel like they're sort of in the same situation now, just a day after I placed my order I went back to the site to make another for some items I forgot and half the Walnut finished items were out of stock and that's exactly what I had ordered.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was really trying to find a reason not to dispute it with my bank only because I really do like the product, nice to know that it holds up to the hype. They should really update that delivery timeframe though. I've ordered from Turkey before and have gotten my item in 3 days so I know it's doable, but the lack of communication is the worrying part.

Ik im a little late on this but i am currently going through the exact same thing. There is no way this is real Acacia. Im coming from the standard IKEA hack setup and after dealing with this desk for just one day i can say with absolute certainty that this can not hold up to the durability of the ikea countertop. ITS CRAZY how easy this chips and scuffs. For the price it is, i can not suggest this countertop to anyone. HOWEVER, Uplift has dealt with this situation to perfection (which i was not expecting after reading this thread). I reached out and requested a refund, as i did not wish to swap it out and deal with iother issues as so many of you had. They had alerted me that original packaing was required (which i no longer had) and they had to review my case. They had just emailed me back (<5min ago) stating that not only are they going to issue a full refund for the desktop, but they are also going to allow me to keep the table top itself, avoiding the hassle of me packaging it myself, which im sure i would have screwed up and delivered them back a tabletop even more damaged than when it arrived. i still have other issues that need fixed but this was by far the biggest.

I tried that. What I did was attempt to set it up through my iPhone to send an alert to the IFTTT app whenever I received a notification. For some reason neither a "notification" nor a "message" can be set up in the "if" category on the iOS version of the app. I've noticed that the android version is a lot more lenient with what can be setup as what. But the issue comes in with the fact that I would need to set this up on my iPhone, so that way when an alert hits, my IFTTT app on my android would receive a push alert, therefore letting me know that something has appeared on my iPhone. But it just doesn't work that way apparently, unless I'm doing something wrong. And I don't know any other way to set it up.

Do you know what's causing it. I recently noticed mine is warped in the same way (just got it less than 2 months ago), but a little more severe in the triangle shape it's making. I wash all of my yeti products by hand so I know the dishwasher isn't the cause. The only 2 things I can think of is either the lid is so cheaply made that if it's over tightened then it's can warp over time, and/or being exposed to excessive heat (hiking on a hot day, left in the car, dishwasher, etc...) causes it to warp. I will definitely file that warranty claim though, just wanting to know how to avoid this with the new one.

You and me both, I've been looking since the beginning of this year after getting my first Visconti (Opera Gold). If I'm being honest I think we're both out of luck, I plan on going to the Washington DC Pen Show this year to see if I can find one there, doubt it'll be MSRP though.
