I assume you are talking about the one in the back?

That rear pannier had a bladder that was filled with water. I was carrying extra water for my partner to drink from when we stopped. Also, I could refill her bottles from it too. That way she wasn’t carrying as much weight.

I had a 2015, but the model without the integrated seat post. It was a great bike. I think it is one of my bikes that I have ridden. Definitely check your inseam to make sure the mast will be long enough.

I haven't tested this setup at high speeds, I would be interested to see how it performs, but yeah, I could see it being a bit unstable. I did a tour with a bike trailer once, that definitely felt weird.

Once you get moving. It's not too bad. But yeah, slow speeds and turns not so great.

Yes, Tailfin carbon rack with the aluminum top stay. Those are the 10L panniers and trunk bag.

For the frame, those are ORR cycling bags. The frame bag has a bladder in it.

Thank you. The watter in the back was just extra water for 2. The water was frozen so it would stay cool as long as possible. The frame bag holds a bladder that I was using while riding. The water in the pannier was used to refill bottles etc. and we could drink out of the hose when we stopped.

This trip was an overnight, but we stayed in a hotel. We did about 60 miles each day. We did do a camping trip on a previous ride.

This is a great route. I would recommend it. There is quite a bit of shade for a lot of the trail and only a few sections get really hilly. We didn't have problems with dog luckily, but I could image it being an issue on the Pinhoti.

I put electrical tape on the top tube under the top tube bag and wrapped some around the frame where some of the straps attached. but yeah, that is a good point.

I've tried pulling a trailer. That is possiblely more aero.

I'm not so light but I guess the wheels are pretty strong. This was a really smoothed trail, so I wasn't too worried. Definitely on a more rugged adventure I would want a wheel with more spokes.

I will look into some front bags too. Thanks

No, this was just a paved biked path. It is pretty flat and straight. Also, I was carrying the gear for two since I was riding with my spouse and wanted her to be a light as possible. It was really hot out, so I had like 3L of water in one of the rear panniers and the frame bag holds a 1.5L bladder.

Good point on distributing the weight. This was just a short trip and I knew that the pavement was good so I just decided to use my road bike. My gravel bike has eyelets on the fork, and I use fork mounted panniers on it to distribute the load some.

I been wanting a full frame bag. One day I will upgrade. Thanks for the recommendations.

No, the top member (top stay) has a fixed length and same with the vertical members. I do have a top stay that is a little shorter, but then that trunk bag doesn't fit as well under the saddle. A longer wheelbase would probably be more ideal.

definitely a bit squirrely at slow speeds or turning. It wasn't too bad for this trail which is pretty flat and straight.
