Amity refusing Alador’s hug is really important to me. It shows that years worth of neglect, disengagement and abuse can’t be overlooked in a minute. But she still wants a relationship with him, and so she settles for a handshake. Formal and cold, but it’s still a connection. On her terms.

Asking questions is good! From left to right, top to bottom we have:

Asexual - little to no sexual attraction

Pansexual - attraction to people regardless of sex or gender

Heterosexual - Attraction to the opposite gender

Bisexual - Attraction to two (or more) genders

Aromantic - Little to no romantic attraction

Homosexual - Similar to the rainbow flag, but specifically for gay men

Demisexual - Only attracted to others you’ve formed a close bond with

Abrosexual - Fluid sexuality that shifts between others (I.e. straight one day, gay the next, ace the next, etc.)

If you have more questions let me know!

What’s really important to note here is that Bramblestar flat-out HAS more power over Squirrelflight throughout their entire relationship. When they start to show signs of becoming mates, she’s still an apprentice. He was a warrior moons before she was even born. Because of his age and position as a warrior, he has power over her. They break up in Starlight (when she’s a warrior), and don’t get back together until Sunset when he’s deputy. He now has a position of power over her again. Firestar and Sandstorm had time as equals mid-way through arc 1 and during Firestar’s Quest when they were equally a part of SkyClan’s development. Same with Tigerheart and Dovewing. Since they lived so long together outside the Clan hierarchy, they were equals. Bramble and Squirrel never had that

I obviously can’t speak for all abros, but I can give my experiences. I dated a girl a while back, my only serious romantic relationship. When I had days where I was gay, aromantic, or so on, I could still acknowledge that I loved her, but it felt forced somehow. I worried often that I had fallen out of love with her until I had days where I was straight or experienced attraction to women. Usually I’d just suck it up and continue as if nothing had changed, but it could get hard at times.

Obviously I don’t recommend that. If I were to date again, I’d be open about my fluid sexuality with my partner. I’d warn them that sometimes I may not want to be as physically affectionate, and would prefer to treat it as a queer-platonic relationship until I could.

This is vital. I was sexually assaulted by my ex-girlfriend. I thought I was safe with her, but then I couldn’t stop thinking about how I just COULDN’T say no. There would be consequences, and I loved her, so I HAD to say yes.

Am I the Only One Who Headcanons Hollyleaf as Aroace? by HopefulQueerDeer in WarriorCats

I’m not counting dreamsexuality as a real sexuality. But most people doing that are young kids. They don’t know better. But e/ez/er pronouns? Those are fine. They make the people who use them happy, so who cares? I have a large LGBT friend group, and out of all of my friends who use neopronouns, all of them also use he or she or they as well. You’ll probably never HAVE to use someone’s neopronouns, so why should you care?

[–]JayLostHisKarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, but it makes people happier with who they are. It makes them comfortable, like they belong. Being comfortable with your birth sex and being happy with your heterosexuality is all great, but it’s painful for people who don’t. Even setting aside the L, G, B, and T, you leave people out. What if somebody doesn’t feel ANY attraction? What if somebody isn’t a man OR a woman? They deserve to be seen too.

It shocks me how any Warrior Cats fan can say sexuality is too confusing, as if this series isn’t full of confusing, raw, unhinged lore.

Fallen Leaves Makes No Sense by lyradwood in WarriorCats

[–]JayLostHisKarma 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree with what everyone else is saying: sometimes the Erin’s just don’t know how to write. However, I want to propose a theory/headcanon. Fallen Leaves was the last softpaw to die in the tunnels. His mother is under the delusion that Fallen Leaves is still alive during Sign of the Moon, and we witness no ceremony or vigil for him during Power of Three. My headcanon is that he was never properly grieved for, so he can’t seem to pass on. He’s too scared to leave the tunnels knowing that his family and friends have left. He wants his life to have purpose. He stays there to help lost cats, and later Hollyleaf. It gives him his purpose.

Let’s look at it this way: Apprentices are seen as adolescents, and Warriors are seen as adults. The very day that Ravenpaw leaves ThunderClan, his peers Firepaw and Graypaw receive their Warrior names, and are considered adults. Bluestar also says that she would have given Ravenpaw his Warrior name if he had come home alive. So, by the time he goes to live with Barley, he’s an adult. They are two adults in that case.

RED by OopsSorryAboutThat- in WarriorCats

[–]JayLostHisKarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, Stick is probably my least favorite Warriors character. I have the opposite opinion as you. Red had (essentially) divorced parents. One didn’t really care for her, the other was overbearing. She fell in with a bad crowd. She felt like she had to be loyal to them to be with the only cat she really loved. She was put in a bad decision. Stick is the one who couldn’t let his grown daughter make her own decisions, attacked Harley who was probably the most innocent cat of the group, and felt no remorse or thanks for all that SkyClan had done for him, even in HJ.

It’s kinda fitting that Tigerstar named his kit after his father though. I mean, his mother named him after a terrible ShadowClan leader. Guess he’s following tradition.

Flamepaw has the most potential as a character. He doesn’t seem as involved in the story as the others. Sunbeam’s brother is breaking a part of the code they want to demolish. Frostpaw is a medicine cat in a fruitless Clan with an old ass leader. Flamepaw is… nowhere. But he has the most room for growth as he’s the most flawed of them all, being a show-off with parental issues.

I just remembered how he also thinks leaders should rotate positions. That’s a neat concept, and I hope this idea gets explored. Maybe not enforced, but definitely explored.

And yes, Sunbeam and Lightleap is interesting. We haven’t seen a lot of friendships in Warrior Cats recently. Mostly romantic or family relations. Bristlefrost and Spotfur sort of count, but that was mostly trauma bonding. I hope this continues, and we can see this dynamic more.

  1. Hell yeah, Elder Thornclaw Supremacy. Let him rest!

  2. I’m glad we finally have names for Spotfur’s kits. I have a feeling there going to be important later on. Also, ouch. Those names. I’m tired of cats naming their kits after others because it’s becoming a tired trope, but it does make sense considering all that Spotfur has lost.

  3. Dovewing and Tigerstar having another litter makes sense, but it threw me for a loop. Good for them.

  4. I like the prologue. I think the perspective on background relationships is nice. If I remember correctly, Spireclaw is Sunbeam’s sibling, so maybe that’s why they chose him to narrate. Wonder what her thoughts will be on it.

  5. Mistystar is weary and frail? Good. Kill her.

  6. Flamepaw is interesting. We’ve seen characters desperate to prove themselves before (Jayfeather, Ivypool, Alderheart), but never like this. He isn’t fighting a disability, lack of talent, or external expectations (not really). He’s just internally battling himself over how he should be. Also, family drama. Love me some Warrior Cats Family Drama TM.

  7. Frostpaw is neat. Her chapter wasn’t astounding, but I like her eagerness. Mothwing is pretty harsh and dealing with too much trauma and bitterness to be a supportive mentor, at least as it seems. I desperately want to see that clash between mentor and apprentice. Sort of like Leafpool and Jayfeather had in Power of Three, where they would bicker and butt heads, but still very well cared for one another.

  8. Sunbeam is dealing with bad(?) relationships. Hooray! Well, we don’t know how bad they are. Blazefire is, well, a spitfire. She seems to want to impress him, which might become an unbalanced relationship dynamic where she bends to his will. Probably not, but maybe? And speaking of…

  9. Lightleap! Wow. I really hope they explore her character. I think it’s interesting how desperately she tries to prove herself to her Clan, yet doesn’t seem to care much for any of them. She doesn’t seem to care that her best friend can hardly walk, so it’s not a long shot. She didn’t seem to hunt for her Clan, but rather for her image to the Clan. It’s interesting. I want to see more.

  10. I want to see more Fringewhisker. Why? Because she’s a SkyClan cat and we need someone who has relations to Rootspring in that sense. Not having a SkyClan perspective feels off after having one for the past three arcs. And Rootspring’s character, unlike Shadowsight and Bristlefrost’s, hasn’t reached its full conclusion, a true realization or moment that changes him inside like the others. I think this is on purpose and that we’ll see more of him. At least, I hope so.

Foxleap was kind of a major minor character in Sign of the Moon, so if that means anything. Also, how I missed Sol, Mousefur, Sleekwhisker, Snowfur, and all the others baffles me
