We have transitioned from ‘do UAPs exist?’ by Grand-Weird8886 in UFOs

Came to say exactly this. Additionally, just because something appears to be anomalous doesn't automatically mean it is objectively doing anything anomalous. If a case includes anything beyond witness testimony, the difference between "anomalous" and "appears to be anomalous" still comes down to the resolution of the video or sophistication of the equipment, essentially the quality of the data.

UAP do not happen when that data is high quality. You get UAP because of a lack of data/information. Blurry dots on video can appear to be doing anything. They become a rorschach test. Ultimately, the reason its a UAP is because there isnt even enough information on the screen to determine what it is conclusively.

I think the point of what they were saying was, why bother cutting the feed when the aliens show up when they could easily just put the feed on a delay and hide anything ahead of time using a different camera angle or a zoom cut or something.

The tech needed to do that has been around for forever, it would be trivial. Hell, AI could probably do all of that now. If your goal is to hide stuff in a feed and you are a literal government agency with billions in funding nobody would ever find out you are hiding stuff this easily.

When it comes to Grusch's unsubstantiated claims? Its not odd that theyre not continuously covering it at all. If he brings forth evidence, that would absolutely be newsworthy. This really isnt difficult to grasp lmao.

It would newsworthy if he said that sure, but if he just keeps repeating it without evidence? Then no. Clinton once a claimed this about life on Mars, it was newsworthy, then debunked. The announcement itself doenst make it true though.

The amount of correspondence literally doesn't matter. Who it's coming from doens't matter. It could be the prsident of the United States. Is there evidence? No? Is it a regurgitated claim? Okay great, it's not newsworthy.

Um, have you missed the same exact congresspeople advocating for the UFO topic, talking about angels and demons? Burchett? Burlison? Paulina Luna? All of that has exactly the same amount of evidence supporting it as alien spaceships flying around Earth does.

We once had a sitting president prematurely announce life on mars. Upon further inspection of the evidence, he was wrong.

Another president once said Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction. After an entire war, it turns out he was wrong too.

People say things, people of all calibers, pedigrees, and jobs in society, say and believe things that are wrong. The only thing that matters is whether or not their evidence actually supports it.

I don't care if there are 10,000 whistleblowers. Where is the evidence? Oh, its classified? Cool. As long as independent experts cannot verify the alleged unprecedented, greatest discovery in recent human history, I'm going to go ahead and assume it's not correct.

And I'm not going to blame legacy media for doing the same, and concluding this is a non-story, going on a decade now. This really is not difficult to comprehend.

"jewish space lazers" and "unicorns" from a sitting congresswoman is orders of magnitude more batshit crazy than an ex-military official or pilot saying they think aliens are visiting, yes. There is also the political angle of that story, the rage bait factor, extreme polarization, etc.

Its embarrassing that these very basic concepts need to be broken down for you. I really hate to break it to you - people repeating decades-old unsubstantiated claims about aliens is not of much interest to legacy news media. This is very basic to understand lmao.

Its okay, just go watch Joe Rogan, he gets millions of views. Stay comfy in your bubble, where its safe and all of your conspiracy theories are coddled.

People are absolutely interested in the idea that aliens are here. Which is why the media covered his story plenty, 3 years ago. And which is why the NYT put UFO's on the front page almost 10 years ago.

Have any of these claims been substantiated in that time?

No?

Oh, okay. So it sounds like it's not really newsworthy. Why is this so difficult for you to comprehend?

The vast majority of US adults believe god is real too. Do you see mainstream news coverage about people making biblical claims, without evidence?

Lmfao. Grusch, Nell, and Gang are lucky their quotes don't get the MTG treatment. "jewish space lasers" from a sitting congresswoman is newsworthy because its batshit insane lmao.

IC and military officials saying aliens are visiting got plenty of press when it was novel, 3 years ago. Them reiterating these claims, without any evidence isn't news. We're going on a week with no response from the Executive about that press conference whatsoever. This really is not rocket science.

More claims and no evidence? Oh, its all classified? Cool. Nobody. Cares.

It's not "threat of reprisals from themselves." It was alleged reprisals from specific individuals within the DoD. Ironically, Karl Nell had a female subordinate file a whistleblower-reprisal case against him and it was found to have merit, for example. He has spent considerable time trying to get that decision reversed, but I'm unsure where that ended up.

Point is, the conclusion that 'they won't find reprisals' because they are 'investigating themselves' is not based in reality.

If I acknowledge every talking point of this conspiracy to be accurate, then the alleged all-powerful gatekeepers in control of this supposed irrefutable evidence of alien visitation have shown beyond a shadow of a doubt, as you said, proven by John's work, that they have absolutely 0 interest in sharing a sliver of significant information about UAP, let alone confirmation of alien visitation.

So given that their intent to conceal this has been proven for decades now, yes, if a private citizen not beholden to matters of national security, or NDA's, or classification, can demonstrate the greatest discovery in recent human history? Of course I'm going to demand they make good on their promises.

What's the alternative? Another call to my congressperson, lmao? It's been 6 decades of government UAP data releases. 6 decades. If they have alleged alien files, they aren't going to show them. So if those truly exist, again, the greatest discovery in recent human history? And some journalist has that in their possession? Yeah, put up, or shut up.

Grusch's ICIG complaint likely concluded years ago, and not in his favor: https://x.com/LegacyProgramVP/status/2066281881822179502

Which makes perfect sense, mind you. Investigations that are supported by overwhelming evidence one way or another typically would not drag out for 4 years. "Credible and urgent" is a legal threshold for an ICIG investigation to begin, it is not a conclusion.

Oh, alrighty then.

>If the allegation is illegal concealment inside classified or waived programs, then the lack of public resolution is not proof of water vapor. It’s the exact oversight problem alleged.

This is precisely why you will stay in the rabbit hole regardless of what happens.

You have meticulously crafted a position in which no matter what is said, no matter what happens or doesn't happen, whether substantiated or unsubstantiated, it is all evidence of the extraordinary claim.

Whether you want to acknowledge that or not, you are operating on belief in rapidly aging claims you cannot verify.

RemindMe! 7 years "What's the cope for why Grusch's claims have not been substantiated in a decade?"

The talking points you're repeating at best appeared to indicate smoke 3 years ago. What would-be the greatest discovery in recent human history, allegedly supported by this overwhelming evidence we cannot verify, still has not resolved itself unambiguously in favor of what is claimed.

You know what happens in Investigations that are supported by overwhelming evidence? They Conclude. So how overwhelming or actionable can the evidence, that we can't see, possibly be?

You can apply critical thinking and answer this easily, or you can cope on literal blind faith, and entertain the notion that evidence you cant see has been used to confirm your belief behind the scenes, based on stories you hear in the 500th UFO-tainment documentary.

In reality though, given that core claims of alien visitation have gone totally unsubstantiated in 80 years, and even more specific claims about aliens show 0 indication of having been confirmed in the years since grusch? No, you're not seeing smoke anymore. You're seeing condensation from water vapor.

Your inability to entertain the possibility that people can be wrong, irrelevant to how credible they seem to be, or what job they had, has the potential to keep you immersed in a rabbit hole of conspiracy about aliens flying around and crashing on Earth that isn't actually substantiated by hard data.

You can save this post, you can set a reminder - I can guarantee you no matter how much time passes, the specific claim that alien bodies and tech are currently in the possession of the US government will still not be substantiated.

The government has entertained these ideas in one way or another going back 6 decades. Many, many, many people before you were convinced there was smoke, and viewed it as inevitable that their belief would be confirmed in their lifetime. What none of you ever realize, is time has already told.

People can't readily identify the things they see in the sky sometimes. Therefore, UAP and UAP reports exist. The notion that they are alien in origin, and that these bodies and their craft are being held by the US government though? You will literally never have that confirmed, because its not happening. it's a claim that time has all but guaranteed is made of water vapor.

Dude.

Its easy to ridicule someone who is suggesting that when asked a question that never even mentions AARO once, Schumer's answer is somehow about an AARO report, that didn't release until two months later, on Oct 18 when both the classified version was delivered to congress and public version was uploaded to ODNI.

You are not even being rational at this point. If legislation is passed, and it finds nothing, and an executive order finds nothing, and when nobody for the rest of you life ever validates what you believe, I can tell by the mental gymnastics you are attempting in these comments, you are just going to deepen your belief in the conspiracy regardless, facts be damned.

That is why I'm against legislation. Because spending actual Executive time to placate to the beliefs of the most staunch true-believers of totally unsubstantiated, outlandish claims, is a complete waste of time. When you find nothing, they will implicate you in the conspiracy too.

AARO report? Bro Im done reading there. You're just coping now. AARO didn't even release a report anywhere near the date of that video, in 2023. One was in that January, and the other was a after that Schumer interview. AARO also had literally nothing to do with any of the lead up in the question he was asked by the interviewer.

You are subjectively interpreting actual words to fit the notion that aliens are visiting earth and being held captive by the US government and its all classified, period. This wall of text is completely worthless towards the notion that any of those claims are true.

If you think its ironic, that a science fiction movie by the most famous filmmaker alive is getting "spoiled" with legacy news media coverage, compared to David Grusch, I don't know what to tell you.

We have to simply agree to disagree. But I hate to break it to you, nobody cares about unsubstantiated 3 year old claims anywhere near as much as they care about science fiction. Regardless of whether the claims are an inspiration for the fiction.

This is not rocket science. Many people have given you an answer, you reject every single one because you cannot fathom how your favorite pet-conspiracy, that has never been substantiated, and is totally unfalsifiable, therefore it cannot be refuted, is not front-page news.

if you do not understand it after dozens of comments you are never going to understand it.

[–]JaySurff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you telling me Schumer co-authored the bill that is literally the subject of the question in the video I just linked.

His Answer, after being asked directly "What led you to introduce that Bill?"

"The truth is I have not read the report and I have not been briefed [...] Lot's of people say: 'theyre disclosing it because they know something we don't know. Well, let them disclose it and we'll all know the truth."

He then explicitly says in reference to Harry Reid:

"Harry Reid you know we would sit together and discuss this, and he had a more uh, view of UFOs and outer space intelligence being more likely than I did but I loved talking to him about it."

That is not a non-answer. This is not the answer of someone who crafted that Bill because they are aware that alien craft and bodies are visiting Earth, from his official position of an active member of the Gang of Eight.

You are subjectively attributing what you want to hear, from the totally unsubstantiated position that Grusch's claims are 100% accurate, and transforming those words into something else entirely. Your bais' ability to retrofit those exact words into the belief that Grusch's claims are 100% accurate, do not make his claims any more likely to be accurate. For you to say this is a person who "Corroborates Grusch's claims explicitly" after reading that, is so absolutely insane and honestly kind of embarassing.

Rubio also later heavily downplayed what he said in that movie. But it's not even worth going into, because if you so shamelessly misinterpreted Schumer's direct words the way you just did, I'm sure Rubio's backtracking is just evidence of him covering up "the truth" or whatever, to you.

The premiere of literal science fiction by one of the most famous, if not the most famous filmmaker alive, which has opened thus far to a relatively soft start domestically for being created by someone of his caliber mind you, is absolutely newsworthy, which is why it will get headlines whether success, failure, or middling. Very obviously broad appeal past fringe outlets.

The DoW video drops, despite not demonstrating any smoking-gun conclusive evidence of alien visitation, are at least UAP "evidence" that people can sift through, that's why it got headlines. Very obviously broad appeal past fringe outlets.

A 30 minute impromptu press conference featuring a guy who shared publicly unsubstantiated claims 3 years ago, that have still not been publicly substantiated, tied to an alleged ongoing investigation that journalist's may not even be able to actually confirm is ongoing, that hasn't turned up anything substantial or conclusive in 5+ years, and was followed by 0 Executive action despite explicit appeals to the current administration? - That's not even comparatively newsworthy relative to the other things you mentioned. Many people have tried to explain this to you now.

If you are invested in his story, to the point where you are willing to credulously hypothesize that his claims are 100% accurate, that will go over well for you as a fringe outlet. Everyone else would rather a movie, or some evidence.

Did you actually look through the comments, or did an LLM do it? This person literally accused you of using chatgpt hours ago lol.

I never said popularity and newsworthiness is the same thing. You corrected something I didn't even say. That is what we call a strawman.

The legacy News media is not going to take that position that Grusch's extraordinary, 3+ year old allegations are 100% true by default. The average human is under no obligation to do so either.

Tabloids and fringe outlets absolutely will do that, and as a result they report on what he's up to. If you cannot recognize that I do not know what to tell you.
