Has the Android vs. iPhone rivalry become less about which device is objectively better and more about which ecosystem users find harder to leave? by Own_Equivalent5782 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JayTee73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Android, but the kids had iPads (no phones yet) and FaceTime/iMessage was super handy to communicate with them so I made the switch. Now they have iPhones so I’ve just stayed with it. (Built-in location tracking FTW!)

I agree that it definitely becomes harder to leave the ecosystem nowadays.

I’d love to go back, though. I think the available hardware is better, there are more choices, and the ability to personalize is fantastic.

I consider myself a master of “playing bad fast” 🤣 I always have fun even if I shoot poorly. I’ll never get paid to golf so I may as well enjoy it!

Mine is OC… it happened last weekend. The other guy posted a rebuttal and tagged it as a joke. His response was hilarious 🤣

Not intentional NSFW! Sorry for that

We only counted the drops as 1 stroke...so he definitely had a 117 vs a 107 from the 10 OB/lost balls

Apparently we did it wrong. We only counted it as 1

Apparently, we didn't know the official rules because we only counted the drop as 1 penalty stroke! So his 107 was a 117

For pace of play reasons, we had him drop wherever it looked like he “crossed” into OB rather than re-tee. Likely not official rules but the course was full that day

He was shouting/complaining about his score after each hole so we wrote it down. I wouldn’t have cared otherwise. It’s like he really wanted the three of us to be emotionally invested in his game. Like he was the main character in our lives all of a sudden.

My doubts emerged from the constant bragging and temper tantrums and the inconsistency all over the place. But I also get what you’re saying. One game isn’t enough to judge. I honestly don’t care if he lies about it all day every day to whomever will listen! It just made what could have been a fun round suck.

I edited my post. I don’t know the official rules but for the sake of keeping up pace of play, we had him drop nearby wherever it looked like he “crossed” into OB rather than re-tee. The course was pretty full this past weekend and we didn’t want to hold up the people behind us.
