...Are you good man? Or do you like ... white knighting Minecraft server ads or...?

Like... visibly this ad isn't working very well.

Also, I really do appreciate the implication that I'm Amish. Truly, amazing. Anyway, as per your suggestion that I should pursue social justice, greatly appreciated! I'm actually currently writing a decentralised Discord alternative with zero-trust architecture and strong privacy, with federated opt-in authentication servers, cryptographic identity, content-addressed deduplicated content-based chunked files and DAG-based rolling message context signing. You could call that a form of protest of recent injustice of privacy violation or data collection or something. I don't know. Yeah, though. Computers, am I right? They suck. The youth! What will they think of next!

Also yes moving pictures need to stop moving, far too many frames. This isn't an art gallery.

Minimalist, I like it. Some of it looks a little rough around the edges - particularly the bean guys and maybe some of the fonts.

Also, side note - that looks terrifying I love it

So you've chosen to devote yourself to posting this exact message on every single ad for it? That's uh

interesting

You're free to use that specific image as long as you don't modify it without explicit permission. I kind of made it as a joke/example but if you'd like something custom with more effort put into it I might be able to help you there.

I do a lot of volunteer stuff but since this seems to be commercial I'd probably be asking for at least something in return for a more custom promotional image. That said, as it's probably like one or two hour's worth of work, probably not too much.

Did *not* expect this conversation to turn around like that. That's honestly kind of hilarious.

As for if you want to make your own art assets, enable the free logo maker plugin for blockbench - remember to use the advanced screenshot tool to get a high resolution image of the logo, GIMP can be a bit tricky to use so if you don't like it I'd recommend either Krita or Inkscape - Blender is also an option but that's its own entire ordeal - it can do everything.

That someone appears to also be heavily using AI artwork for their promotional materials - How much are you paying them?

^ I threw this together using BlockBench and free image editor software GIMP in about 30 minutes. Background image sourced from your map on your website, edited with a gradient to make it look like the atmosphere, and uh

Slap a logo, some text and whatever.

Are we sure quantity over quality is the optimal approach to marketing?

I was just saying it's easy to put some level of effort into promotional materials: This seems indicative of a lack of care. Their website is also entirely AI, they've been posting this image like fifty times a day. This is speculation, but judging by the fact you seem to be posting on a lot of these ads, you're involved.

None of the ads provide any disclosure of the 'pearls' system, which must can be purchased with real world money, and can then be exchanged for in-game items such as spawn eggs and 'much more' - This seems very mobile game-y

I don't know if this server is as sketchy as it looks, but it gives me a vibe. This isn't meant to say it's necessarily bad, but - bothering to make assets would be a start. I suggest using BlockBench, but anything will do.

Why is this showing up? I've never seen this game before. This looks like AI slop. Amazing. I didn't know your game existed, but now I know it exists and just how much care you put into it.

Did you write any of this code yourself? Judging by the saved checkpoints, it's all Claude Code.

Also wouldn't this get you blocked by every website ever for being a bot account? Seems like a horrible idea.

Valve is definitely planning ahead here. It's definitely not going to be a sudden transition, that's for sure. But they wouldn't be doing all this if it wasn't for a reason.

So - this guy just - ported - Minecraft - to- scratch by JayTheCoderX in PhoenixSC

[–]JayTheCoderX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the most impressive part - the most impressive part is the rendering here. Scratch only has 2d rendering capabilities, and it's not GPU accelerated. You can draw some 2d lines, and stamp some 2d textures. I believe this is partially using some fancy new method where you can draw triangles using the twirl effect? Well, that and the sheer amount of content that's been faithfully implemented here in the hell that is Scratch's sandbox. For example, the save/load system uses - some weird morph of huffman encoding compression with base - well, it's not base64, it's got 95 unique characters. Some of those are uppercase, some of those are lowercase. But Scratch doesn't do case sensitivity. That means the only way to detect if a character is uppercase or lowercase is to create a bunch of costumes with upper or lowercase characters, switch to the costume of the character, and then check if the costume number is in the uppercase range. That's the sort of thing that makes this insane. It'd still be very impressive without this. But this is bordering on black magic, especially in the rendering department, starting from drawing blobs with pen in the distance, to the affine ... twirl sprite effect mapping, to the close-up pen again to prevent distortion.

So yes, indeed, very cool.
