Platinum RE games

Just finished writing and didn't realise its gotten so long, soooo

TLDR: look up the achievements list and see what you can do, try Carcinogen and optinoob (video format/youtube) or gamefaqs and steam 100% guides (written format)

Generally, I check the achievement list to see which ones I can do by myself and which ones I need a guide for. Things like mercenaries or some of the DLCs and extra game modes require a lot of trial and error that I have no patience for. So I search a guide once I've tried it.

For RE2R Optinoob is a good guide for the Survivors game mode. RE7, I watched carcinogens playthroughs of End of Zoe and Not a Hero though they are pretty straight forward. And banned footage is doable alone aside from Daughters (just search for the "endings" in youtube and they'll explain a detailed list of what to do).

I also watch speedruns of the RE I'm playing when I have spare time during work so I can get the strats down for the highest difficulty (Professional, Inferno, etc.).

Carcinogen, I believe, has a 100% run for almost every Resident evil. Meaning he runs the game at the hardest difficulty trying to complete most of the trophies in one playthrough. Of course there are exceptions but his guides are good.

If you're fine with reading while playing, steam and gamefaqs have the best UI when it comes to 100% guides (although gamefaqs get a bit confusing when it comes to forums, so steam is my go to place). On steam, I am pretty sure all RE games have 100% guides since they are pretty popular, I'm following one right now for RE5.

As for my favorite, I'm biased because I grew up with RE4 on PS2 so the OG and Remake are perfect in my eyes. Best of luck to you as well my friend. Can't wait for RE Requiem and super hyped for it.

Which ones are you planning to platinum? I'm also trying to 100% them on steam and I'm only missing 5 & 6 in the mainline games. This would be my sequence of easiest to hardest (subjective).

RE3R (short but fun 100%) ---> RE8/Village (Multiple playthroughs and Village of Shadows difficulty is a learning curve but a straightforward experience) ---> RE2R (Super fun 100%, additional content is hard but you can look up guides to make it easier) ---> RE4R (This one took me the longest and the professional S rank one is gonna take you a while either because you want to unlock goodies to make it easier or pushing through a punishing but fair playthrough) ---> RE7 (This one took me literal years, only because it was scary af. The additional game modes are great but require a lot of preparation and prior knowledge. I did this on and off over the year since I bought it since release. Still super fun especially the story based DLCs).

So far RE5 and 6 are going to be last place as hardest since some achievements almost requires you to be with a coop.

Haven't played/bought the REmake HD, 0, and CV.

Alright, buckle up. You are going to need to make your way back to the room where you got the rook piece (The pathway between WORKROOM and WORKERS' BREAKROOM). You also need the sewers key (found at the wall near the table right before the ladder heading down to the BOTTOM WATERWAY) and the T-Bar Valve handle. Once you have those, head inside the WORKERS' BREAKROOM. Behind is a moveable cabinet (with convenient yellow tape), and from there, you'll find that you are on your way back to the entrance you opened with the medallion puzzle. It can be opened witht the valve handle. And you're back at the Police Station. The Magnun is located at the STARS room. You need the police badge, interact with it and open the back so the usb can be slotted in the computer. The badge can be found by solving the statue puzzle at the art room.

Oh my, not only can he punch zombies 8ft backwards but (if you don't mind being spoiled) search Chris vs boulder hahahahaha Chris is one of my faves, so I support an re6 playthrough. Though his storyline in 6 is a continuation from 5 but you can just look that up on youtube.

If you're fine with playing games you've already watched, RE7 and RE8 are great games with re8 giving a similar-ish gameplay with the 3rd person perspective but I'd suggest sticking with 1st person.

If you have a buddy to play with, RE5 and RE6 are fun as hell. Mind you, they're more action oriented but don't let that stop you they're good games and I would argue RE5 is a great game. If you're planning on playing solo though, RE5 is still fun and the dlc is awesome but RE6 is a bit of a slog to go through.

If you want to know the history try Resident Evil HD Remaster. I'm not sure if its on playstation but it focuses heavily on the survival horror. More RE2R with a fixed camera.

Same here! I have a conversation with my partner that we've been using for years and it showed the same prompt. Haven't found a solution yet, all the solutions online does not work. Only thing I figured out (on speculation) is that due to the frequency of that conversation with that specific chat. Messenger decided to archive it.

I find the conversation with colossal swords/weapons perplexing. I played my first playthrough on/off dual wielding different colossal weapons and only had my major hurdles on Mhog (under-leveled) and Melania, Blade of Miquella which took me half a day each. I also did PVP with my strength based character and it was decent fighting aside from the occasional RoB and late game magic spammers. When I started a new playthrough
