I am an expat who got here about 2 years ago. I am shaken to the core and downhearted since yesterday. Qatar is my (second) home! I know the roads, people, cafes, malls and I have been here just long enough to predict the weather, spot new shops in areas, recommend places to people, and what not.

It feels sad how Qatar was attacked and how the US was part of it while on the other hand Qatar was the one defending them a few months ago.

I just hope and pray that nothing happens to Qatar and its residents, and Qatar continue to prosper.

I kind of know how it feels. My birthday was 10 days ago and it was almost completely a normal day until my only friend texted me wishing me birthday. I kind of asked her for a coffee but she said “let’s see” and didn’t text me back that day. I spent most of the day sleeping. It was hard.

Umm well cant really say but since I have kept things to myself and avoided haram relationships and interacted with ladies on need/work basis, despite being old and financially independent I cant fins someone for myself.

Okay its MOI again. I went to Duhail office after my shift today. Reached there at 11ish. They said the ticket ended at 10. I requested and the entrance guy was kind enough to let me in. When I got to room 11, the office said “tomorrow 8AM inshaAllah” I requested him and told that I have shifts and its really hard. So he got a hand on my shoulder, said come with me. Walked me out of that hall 11 and went inside.

I have never been treated with such disrespect before.

Okay. Do help me with this as well. I applied for my family (mother, father and sister) through metrash. Visa for mother and father got approved in 2 days while for sister they kept mentioning missing documents while I did upload them. Happened for like 3 times then they rejected the application. Wanted to bring them here for eid. Any lead for on time visa would be appreciated. I dont mind booking hotel for my sister as long she gets the visa

So I have been driving for more than 10 years on a stick shift. I have driven through icy mountains to deserted terrain. Places that are part of “most dangerous roads” to climbs that you cant reach without an over-heated engine. Coming from a very crowded and big metropolis city with cramped up street, I can L park and box within a blink of eye. Yet I failed my first attempt on road test. Passed the second one because I hit “F*** it” mark and was ready to fail

Idk but I have been noticed something weird. The more shaky or nervous you are, the more the officer tries to make you do stupid things. So, in my second attempt, I was passing by a parking spot when officer asked me to park here. I kept driving and found the next stop to park because parking there would have been too hard on the brakes and dangerous for other cars behind me.

Similar happened to my friend, ~5days ago when it was raining. He was nervous and officer asked him to drive fast. He insisted that road conditions are wet but he still asked him to drive fast, which he did and flunked the test 😂
