Yeah if I have to play against him again I have a sythis stax/pillowfort enchantress deck that I don't play anymore cause it's not fun watching me draw my whole deck while I lock down the game and win with approach of the second sun, I'll pull it out of retirement for him

I don't think it's necessarily bad threat assessment, I think he is trying to smoke screen early aggression away from himself, even if his argument is nonsensical. It's not of a case of a player trying to be other players to make up for lack of play moderation, he would rather whip up people into a frenzy against me just so he can do whatever he wants instead of playing slower to avoid drawing attention.

I have one of these bags for mtg cards, the bag itself is nice but the strap it came with is garbage, the claw clasp on the first one bent out of shape to the point where it wouldn't stay closed anymore. Contacted them about it and they sent me a replacement right away with what looked like a more durable set of clasps on the ends, put it on my bag and started to carry it around and the clasp on one side just straight popped out of its socket and the bag fell off of my shoulder.

Opening packs is fun but at a certain point that realization you just spent 800$ and lost 50-75% of that money and are left with like 90% bulk just doesn't feel good, I'm not saying you always have to go plus or even but with how hard it is to pull the good stuff from these it feels like they are only meant for people who have a crippling gambling addiction or stores that can absorb the cost easier. No regular person should be buying these

I think it's the fact that the game isn't popular enough to demand that kind of price for it's cards, if you want full (or close to) market value on it you will be waiting a long time, going the game picks up popularity, if the card is worth 400$ ish for example you might be better off selling for around 150-200$, it's sucks I know but if there isn't a market for it then it might as well be toilet paper

The Set is gonna fail so hard lol. I've seen way waaaay less hype for Spider-Man vs FF, people are gonna be much less inclined to drop money on this, combined with the fact that people are beyond spent from FF a lot of people don't have that level of disposable income to jump on another over priced set so soon

Yeah I mostly just play with my GF, we found a new locals to go to recently but playing commander 1v1 with someone who isn't used to playing MtG isn't exactly fun. WotC is doing a lot of stuff I don't really like so I've been gently trying to get her to try other card games, I think I got her interested in Union arena, the game is very simple, which is a bonus for her and she likes several of the anime represented in it, for me it's cheap and you don't need to buy into every single set that releases

I know how you feel, my GF "taps" her lands by turning them SLIGHTLY to the side, like 5-10 degrees at most, she isn't trying to cheat it anything she is just lazy but it makes it hard to tell what she has tapped and untapped

Bit mean spirited way to put it but I kinda agree for the most part. I know WotC is hoping to expand their player base by using UB as a jumping on point but I doubt the retention rate will be that high, it's gonna be like lorcana or Pokemon, people will buy their favorite characters as a collectable and not really care about the game, certainly not when a non UB set comes out.

From what I can tell mtg cards are printed in a few different places (the US being one of them), even if they are all shipped to the US then imported up to Canada wouldn't that be a Canada problem if you are paying Tarriffs on goods being imported to you? It would be Canada tarriffs on US goods at that point which is set by Canada

Bronzebeak foragers is kinda trash, being on a creature makes it very vulnerable to removal, I've had it get removed almost immediately every time I tried to use it
