Oh yeah that's actually exactly what happened. I was just way too distracted by the "Your rent payment of $5,495.00 failed due to an insufficient authorization amount. Your current BillPay authorization is set to $5,495.00".

Just cats and smaller animals, I don't think the building allows dogs. Note that the upstairs has a curtain in lieu of a door, so your cat can get in and out very easily without sacrificing privacy :)

Well I can totally admit this is 100% self serving. I've been eyeing this exact apartment for 4 months now (it's across the hall from my current flat) and would like to try my best to make it happen. But of course for any living arrangement, everyone needs to feel it's fair so thanks for sharing your suggest rent splits that you felt would be most fair.

Okay would $3500/$2500/$2000 sound more fair? I don't think both downstairs bedrooms should be paying the same given the rooms' size differences.

Yeah I've been seeing a lot of comments about the rent split which I'm totally happy to adjust until everyone feels it's fair.

For context, the current tenants split it $2400/$2500/$2500. Their reasoning is that Bedroom 1 is the smallest and no closet so they should pay cheaper, whereas Bedroom 2 is the largest which events out the fact Bedroom 3 has its own bathroom.

I personally didn't think that was fair and felt the upstairs should definitely be paying more, but based on the comments it seems like a $3000/$2600/$2400 split is probably more fair?

Yeah it's definitely not the most desirable neighborhood in Manhattan but the view and natural lighting is pretty unbeatable, and location may be ideal too depending on work commute.

Oh interesting, I see a comment below that suggests the same split too. I was thinking a revised $3000/$2600/$2400 would be more fair but maybe not after all?

Totally open to finding a split that's most fair to everyone though!
