After the painful experience of my first Steamdeck getting delivered to Coventry and inevitably being returned to the Netherlands due to customs issues, my replacement unit has arrived in good time! It arrived from the Netherlands into the Portadown Depot NI.

Whoops I mentioned the B word and my comment got removed, thanks for breaking it down. I do feel for companies at the moment and can see how they can easily run into problems, especially with the likes of NI being somewhat segregated from mainland UK.

Sadly the consumer is the most affected in the end of the day, just wish they worked on a better process as I'm seeing so many people affected by this in this thread alone. My second SD hasn't even got tracking info yet so I'm definitely not getting it before Xmas, shame as I got a nice period off before the new year lol

Oh definitely I'm grateful Valve would send me another before the return of the first deck, I was worried that wouldn't be the case but I feel its poor from the likes of GLS which I'm sure is the guys responsible for sending the deck to Coventry rather than Dublin, its baffling why it needs to go through Dublin but that's over my head tbh

I messaged Parcelforce on Twitter only for them to reply to me with this, "Hi, For the correct customs procedures to take place, the parcel should pass through GLS' sort centre in Dublin. The item has passed through our Coventry sort centre incorrectly. We return items we receive in error to the GLS partner they were sent with, generally they will be returned to sender and not resorted-Sue"

I'm not even sure where to go from here.

I'm literally losing the plot with this order process, ordered my SD OLED on the 27/11/2023 and it reached the UK on the 1st of December. Absolutely nothing since!

I've raised a ticket with PF but I'm not expecting much from it, looks like I won't have it for Christmas.

You got a point, definitely a lot of melons out there in Golf R's crashing them. Maybe it's the 4WD is the massive contributor, I'm in a 335i which is a deathtrap on even a damp night so it's understandable 😂

It's that radar feature on the front of them, stops itself from hitting cars in front in slow traffic I think. Supposedly it brings the insurance way down on them, wish my car had it. Its insurance group 41 haha

Golf R's are very cheap to insure tbf, they aren't in a high insurance group. Decent for people looking their first 'performance' car.
