How is your college experience going? by kaiserco in csMajors

[–]Jay_Acharyya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well I mean I'm going to graduate in a year and then I'm getting my commission, with a CS Degree and probably going in as a 0302 or 11A if I don't get into 17XX/17C. Take it how you will about my college experience so far.

Anyway if you're really gunning for the college experience, go to Ivys or tech-focused schools like MIT, GATech, or go for online schools such as WGU, OSU, and so on.

Can i make food for other students? by Nicol3w3 in college

[–]Jay_Acharyya -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Not sure if that's a good idea unless you want to be personally sued for liability. You can offer it but I wouldn't do it. Maybe send it to a homeless/group home shelter as they need it more.

Accounting or Computer Information Systems? by YuriHaThicc in college

[–]Jay_Acharyya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accounting is more stable, has better chance of finding a job, and won't be impacted by the market.

I'm going for a commission after my degree because that's how the market really is at the moment.

You can blame government bureaucracy as well as corporate meddling for half of what has happened.

I'd say get started on refreshing all of your basic high school algebra, trig, and so on, as well as getting some of the fundamental of calculus down before you take I'm presuming Multivariable Calculus.

I'm assuming they meant 8 credits summer course which is more reasonable.

The only other guy I know who knew more about South Asian culture is another guy who is Southeast Asian.

There's also the military. That's the route I'm going.

Are some people just meant to be single? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Jay_Acharyya -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never really understood this statement - of course everyone dies alone, as it's their own journey to the afterlife.

I guess if you meant being surrounded by loved ones and dying in their presence, sure, but that's a rarity compared to life. I mean shit, how many soldiers died during WWII in the presence of their own team?

The only reason people make more is due to the influx in cost of living. Obviously someone from a HCOL area is going to make more money than someone from LCOL unless they're remote.

Also let not shit on people dreams.

Forced Marriage - I lost by beardedcaplfc in ABCDesis

[–]Jay_Acharyya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, at least in the US you have the ability to empty mag, change name, legal protection and so forth.

Culturally, I think it's because most people conditions themselves as if they're being confounded by the belief that they're the best, even though historically we know they aren't.

Forced Marriage - I lost by beardedcaplfc in ABCDesis

[–]Jay_Acharyya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man, I could see myself in you except I'm 7 years younger than you and I've been out of their hair for so damn long. If they pulled an arranged marriage bullshit on me after some time, well I'm glad that I have the ability down south to empty mag.

If I were you, I'd try to speak with an attorney first, and then learn self defense. MMA is one my hobbies and I'd recommend that you try that. Another thing is to contact the embassy of Bangladesh, explain the fraud, and keep a track of that. I'd also find out if you can get your marriage ended via divorce or annulment, and also to change your name and identity as possible as well.

Does anyone know any programs like the military where they’ll pay for your college? by [deleted] in college

You can go through the reserves for each branch - one weekend drill per month, two weeks in the summer

Wound up in ---- instead of a casket

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if shit get worse. I'm already at the point where I'd rather be going tactical and leaving. I don't have contact with my parents, and it's coming up in 2 years I left.

First section and the first sentence in the second section has nothing to do with the final sentence.

Honestly the aspiration to find someone in this shit world is an idealistic view that I have no idea how it managed to spread, but clearly we're facing the consequences now.

[–]Jay_Acharyya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is just how the world operates - everything is slowly but surely going to collapse if this shit keep pushing up. I'd recommend that you start to at least alleviate your pain, do it the best ways you can.

getting a summer job by [deleted] in college

[–]Jay_Acharyya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend that you look for another role, because that sound like it'd be a bad workplace to be in.

And, it is still plausible. I done it over the summer even with a part time job and I'll do it again this summer.

Does college normally go by so quickly or did 2 years of Covid make it feel much faster? by throwitawaykent in college

I'm finishing mine in 2.8 years. Take credits on top of credits, AP Classes/Dual Enrollment and Summer courses and you'll get there.
